close, but I was thinking of Norway, clues for their singing speech, lusekofter (Cardigans), oil and amongst other jokes the one about especially long plates for eating pasta.

Somewhat muggy accent, special multiingrediented sandwiches, delicious chocolate-"wienerbrot", terrific at handheld globe throwing, known for ancient somewhat unpleasant visits to Ireland and Britain.

Ok....again... ...it's...Denmark and the clues were for the following:

sometimes indesipherable language, their special sandwiches called smörrebröd, their excellent handballplayers and the seasonal visits of the Vikings
