Why? Is it random bureaucratic nonsense or did something go wrong?

I just visited Towson University today for an open house. (Towson is in Maryland, by the way). I really enjoyed the people and the location of the college. Which is funny because I completely dreaded coming and I said flat out no that I would ever come to this college, but I actually did like it. I think that I will keep it in mind. I'm not crazy about their nursing school, which is what I want to do. But I have many more open houses to come, I guess.

I've been worrying about graduate schools. It doesn't help that I'm not sure what I'm going to be studying. Originally, it was going to be Liturgical Studies, then English Literature, and now it looks like Patristics. I really, really hope I get into Notre Dame. Very Prestigious School + Full Tuition Scholarship = Ideal Grad School. Also looking into CUA, University of Toronto, and University of Dallas (as a sort of last resort; the other three are the ones I want to do).

12 !! That would make everything easier, I suppose.

Sis, Do any of those colleges have a Nursing program? I think I am going to visit Salisbury sometime in November.

The Netherlands, including the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
- Total 41,526 km² (135th)
16,033 sq mi

The number of students enrolled in institutions of higher education increased dramatically in the 1960s, and by the late 1980s some 307,500 students attended colleges and universities. Major institutions include the University of Amsterdam (1632) and the state universities of Groningen (1614), Leiden (1575), and Utrecht (1636). The Netherlands has several technical universities and schools of fine arts.

Maryland
Total 12,407 sq mi
(32,133 km²)

There are currently 56 colleges and universities, defined as accredited, degree-granting, postsecondary institutions, in the state of Maryland.

The state's public universities are part of the University System of Maryland, with the exception of St. Mary's College and Morgan State University, which are public, but are not part of the university system.[1] The oldest school in the state is St. John's College, formerly King William School, founded in 1696, and the third oldest college and/or university in the United States.[2] Francis Scott Key, author of the Star Spangled Banner, is an alumnus of St. Johns.[3] The newest school is University of Maryland, Hagerstown, founded in 2008. The characteristics of each institution varies from small, intimate, liberal arts colleges such as Washington College to large, public, research universities such as the University of Maryland, College Park.

As of 2005, approximately 310,689 students (undergraduate, graduate, & professional) were enrolled at Maryland universities and colleges.[4] Universities and colleges in the state of Maryland are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.[5]

Hehe, we do have a lot of colleges though. About 50 locations or so I'd think. My own college has 3 locations with different studies.

Ahhh! I am attending college next year, this is freaking me out. Right now it's in the running between Drexel University and Towson University. (However, I've gotten accepted into York College, Stevenson University, and West Virginia University). So, I guess we'll see what happens. The only problem right now is Drexel is 45k a year - which is extremely pricey when Towson is in state and 20k cheaper...but, Drexel is the better school all together - oh decisions decisions!

AHH! LUCKY!
The prices to get a high end education in the US is ridiculous - kids like me are having to pick and choose which schools we go to based on price alone sometimes, it's completely unfair!

I pay about 12k a year; yay socialism!

Are there not significant financial aid programs at the schools you're looking at?

I'm quite lucky.... the school I go to is only about $8,000 a year, but tuition is fixing to go up. It's been steadily rising (it was something more like $7,000 five years ago) but I think there are some slightly more dramatic rate hikes planned for the next few years .

Honestly, I wish that was as much that I had to pay..

Yeah, the schools that I'm thinking about going to do have financial aid, but because my parents have a steady income, I don't get that much

I know that's how I based what school I was going to. Because I had academic merit, I was offered scholarships to several schools, but the school I wanted to attend only offered me a half-tuition scholarship while the school I am attending gave me a full-tuition scholarship. The funny thing is that the scholarship from the first school was worth about 3k more than the one I accepted!

I've always had that problem. I tell people I'm too rich (or not poor enough) to get need-based financial aid.
