As for Samwise Gamgee, it depends on what you mean by "safe". Do you mean safe as in, "I need a date that won't be all hands?" or "Oh crap!!! Where did all these orcs come from!?! Wow, I'm glad you are here to help me fight them off!" or "Ok, I have got this really big secret and I have to tell someone, and I'm going to trust you because you're a good friend and you'll keep your mouth shut." So, define "safe." |

I'd feel safest with either elrond, aragorn or gandalf. I dunno they just have that fatherly, strong, commanding, "nothing can hurt me" air about them don't they?

Or, Aragorn. The guy just doesn't seem to lose in a battle. If I was on the other side, I say the Nazgul witch king. He's scary even without clothes, and you've gotta respect that! Definitly wouldn't name any of the Hobbits. I would end up defending them! And as brave as Gimili is, well ... he's short. It's hard to hew some heads if your short. I'm assuming here that we can't name any Valar or Maiar. |

I wouldn't feel all that safe with Ilúvatar or Manwë because they're so much more powerful than me.

I´d feel safest with..
I´d actually feel the safest with Boromir. He´s a trained warrior with a lot of experience about battles, and if you think of his last battle, he managed to kill a huge number of his enemies, against impossible odds.. I have a feeling that he´d be a good protector.
