Idiots who install unsupported butcherblock countertops next to sinks.

What aspect of the natural characteristics of wood caused you to think THAT was a brilliant idea?

I'm spending too much time in the venting thread.

But.

People who are not literate in their own language should not be teaching Latin.

You can vent as much as you want
We don't mind, well... I don't anyway.
And might I add: people who are not literate in their own language should not teach any language or language depend course.

Sane, did you sleep with your face pressed against anything? I seem to recall that my oldest sister would wakeup with nosebleeds sometimes during the winter from the heat drying her out, and because she would sleep with her face pressed against the pillow with pressure on her nose.

I agree. People who make themselves look like idiots on a regular basis should not be speaking Latin either. *snicker*

My parents split
My 9 year old cousin died suddenly
I started failing history
and my boyfriend dumped my 5 weeks ago...
It's been rough...

Tessar, you still unable to sleep? Poor you! Why don't you curl up against Aeran near the fire in the Teacup, that'll lull you to sleep easily! He won't mind. Or can I make you hot milk or something? >_<

Creosote tea!
Although, too high a concentration of the creosote bush and you might not wake up...

In regards to bloody nose thing: Nope, didn't sleep with nose pressed to anything, I slept on my back and no allergies. Room had humidifier and was anything BUT dry heat. That and it was one hell of a nose bleed, to the point it got onto my shirt, I do remember waking up cause I had trouble breathing.

The damnable thing is still bleeding on and off.

Well my power cord has finally melted all the way through.

My Macbook has proven to be much like myself over the year that I've owned it: Pretty, functional, fun to be around, useful, good with kids... aaaaaaaaaaand really, really delicate.

Seriously, what's with this? First I had to get the thing sent in because it wouldn't start up (something was wrong with the ram I think), then the battery broke (twice), and now my power cord MELTED AND it looks like the battery might be going out again, but it's hard to be sure without the power cord functioning properly.

The first stuff was all covered by my warranty, but since it's been a year now I have to shell out $88 for a new cord. Blech!

Have to pay $250 for a new cord here, quit yer bitching.

Incidentally, I've had mine for 2.5 years now and the only thing that went wrong was when I tripped over the power cord & broke the prong (got stuck in the power inlet).

Laptops... you can't live with em, you can't live without em

I have 2 things:
1) In the train there was a high whiny noise that apparently only I could hear. I asked some people but nobody heard it! I'm really losing it... @_@ And it gave me a headache. >_<
2) On the same trip I met one of my former classmates who is now attending artschool, majoring in singing. She wants to become a popstar or something. Anyway, we got talking about the differences of singing in a choir and singing "solo" with band and stuff. Then she said that every choir would be good if you'd just throw a few good solists together! I tried to tell her that it isn't that easy, but she wouldn't listen and was really disdainful of choirperformances and of the accomplishments of people in a choir ("You don't have to be able to sing, because the people around will cover for you" blablabla).
She quite managed to get me off my happy standard. I'll never ever discuss this with her again, that's for sure! I don't like getting so upset over the ignorance of one person...
(still, it was nice meeting her again and otherwise our conversation was nice )
