Based on my now exhaustive knowledge of bogans (thanks guys ) I think I can say that they're what we in England call 'chavs'...

I feel it should be pointed out that Irish whiskey is cheaper here in Seattle than it is in Ireland. Bit ironic that.
Aside from that... England can take back the U.S if it likes, just so long as they allow Western Washington to break off and form its own country.

Then there's the American answer I found on another board (not so funny as the British IMO, as it's more of a "have it back at ya'", but it does have a few good sections. Very informative at any rate. ): Quote:

I do like how they mention their cooking - because it does really suck.

Excellent response. Particularly like the monarchy jibe.
I seem to recall reading something ages ago about UK-US English spelling which said that the original spelling for colour was in fact color, and that it was us that changed. We are sorry for the teletubbies. If it's any consolation, we're still paying the price. e-ohh |

The response was just as funny as the original! Nice. Maybe this all would have been better off in the joke thread, oh well.
I love Aston Martins! An American company did buy them... and now their cars aren't as cool. Hmph. Nothing beats the Aston Martin DB 4. Nothing I say!! *end fanatical rant*

You have to laugh at the "lame" attempt from our American cousins for couter-attacking the original article, although i'll admit that I agree with the monarchist point
Here's some suggestions: If Americans knew about anything outside of their borders, they would realise that most of Britain couldn't give a toss whether we are a world power anymore. Unlike the yanks, we don't need to demonstrate a gung-ho attitude because we have developed those techniques called understanding and conversation, oh and at least our leader Mr Blair knows his way around a map! The only difference in Canadian and American accents is that at least the Canadians don't sound as if they've got something stuck up their ****. Those poor excuses regarding language don't hide the real fact that Americans can only write phonetically Again, if you knew anything about football, you will have noticed that Britain did not field a team at the olympics because of its status. Also, the the olympics only allow you to field a limited number of professional, over 21 players. American imagination is so brilliant that they have to use cliches about "posh" or cockney Brits in their movies, or identify Britain with Beefeater guards at Buckingham Palace. It's not all red buses you know. Learn how to cook? Why don't you lot learn how to eat healthily, since you keep breaking your own records on obesity. As for WW2, yeah thanks, even though it took you 3 years and thousands of lives before you wanted to help, and that after you were attacked on your own doorstep. And what's this "we'll change the whole course of factual history in our movies so we are seen to have won the war single-handedly"??? Then again, most Americans are gullible enough to fall for those old tricks. Our history and culture goes back thousands of years, most of America's culture only from the advent of tv.

Durin1 -
You really are completely ignorant of America I guess. I see this has become a let's bitch about America thread by some people. It would be nice if some europeans actually tried to learn about America - instead of just continously believing their own small minded version of it.
