I agree! Good work JD, you're well on your way to taking over all of NJ now. It's the Society you mentioned to me before, isn't it?

the "tags" are: [.i][/.i]; [.b][/.b]; etc.

But I actually meant the smilies. The tags are not case sensitive, actually. But if I try to make a "" and I use a lower case "d" instead... I get ... ":d"

Or if I want , and I use upper case ... see?

I see, so, why dont you just use the options on the side, its way freaking easier.

Because I type pretty fast and it's quicker to just type the tags in as I go.

I finally finished my postcard application for my website and have now made it active. I originally started it in JSP - but after switching service providers - I rewrote it in PHP.

If you're interested you can check it out at - New Jersey Postcards

Now I have to move onto the next phase of my website, which I think might be a restaurant guide.

I share your pain. As I type this, I notice I don't use all my right-hand fingers either, but I still type fast.

I'm happy for you JD, you've been working hard on it. I guess this means now I'll be helping with comments on your restaurant guide now.

Most likely - yes. Although the restaurant guide won't be that difficult - the postcard application was the most difficult - because I had to develop the management application too. It takes the full size photo and reduces it down to a thumbnail and all that. Then also - with the postcard site their is the whole e-mail functionality of a person basically e-mail the notification out that they have sent a postcard.

I would have gotten it done a lot sooner had I just started out doing it in PHP - but oh well. I never even programmed in PHP before - this is my first application in this language.

You're perfecting About NJ pretty fast, JD. I'd lost track of it.

Somewhat related to NJ: I am the president of the history club in school next year! I was unrivaled in the election, but still not much of an accomplishment; there are about 15 non-seniors who will be there next year. And the club moderator is leaving the school, so I'll actually have to DO something right now about getting a cool teacher to moderate our club.

Thanks Jonathan. That was the idea. I'm glad you think it worked out that way.

Well to tell you the truth - I think it's been rather slow going. I need to work on it more. You should come by it more often. Now onto the restaurant guide.

Well my restaurant guide is up. After 2 days of coding and about a week of entering in restaurants - it is finally up and contains about 800 restaurants from around the state.

I need to give people a way of submitting new restaurants to me and also to rate and submit comments on any restaurant in the guide. There are also many other ideas I have for expanding the usefullness of the guide, such as additional search criteria and expanded listings that restaurants can purchase.

I think that's a really good guide! It gives the most important facts, and the search-thing is really good!

Thanks - it also contains information, which isn't currently being displayed, like whether it's BYOB or accepts credit cards or is open late and things like that. I'm glad you find it easy to use - that's a key thing I always strive for - ease of use. If a user can't easily use the website - or the application - it's not worth much.

At our school we have a literary/art magazine published each year which contains various students' poems and artwork. This year two of my artworks have been chosen for the magazine. One of those pieces has also been chosen for the front cover of the magazine.

I was asked to substitute for the same kindergarten class as a week ago. You may remember my little vent in the temp venting thread... they were abnormal 5 and 6 year olds with severe mental problems and violent and destructive tendencies. I agreed on ONE CONDITION: that the 5 students with the most severe problems were removed from the class. The other kindergarten teachers agreed to taking 4 and each one took one for the day. It was great! The other kids actually LEARNED something... and I am less stressed out because of it. My accomplishment... teaching them "1-2-3 All Eyes On Me" (response="1-2 Eyes On You")... manipulating little kids is so much fun! *snicker*

Hey! I MANAGED the strip club... I didn't take off my clothes ... if it hadn't been deleted by Moot Gestapo then you'd have seen that it was the MEN who took off their clothes... not the women.
