hmm, lager, bitter, stout or ale?
my order of preference is as follows stout is best followed by real ale then bitter and i dont touch lager - too weak best drink in the world is guinness draught, ice cold, whilst at a gig, though you gotta remember to put it down before you start moshing :d many a time have i poured a pint over me self |

A half-yard of Guinness for LC of U!
I like the dark ales, and then the lighter ales. I stay away from the light industrial brews, for I downed many a Lucky Draft and Rainier and Olympia back in the day, many while driving about without seatbelts in a 1959 Ford or a 1961 Falcon or 1968 Cougar.... dumb.

I don't like beer all that much. I haven't tasted a large variety so far (tried to a couple times, but been caught trying ), but I couldn't even identify what I didn't like about what I've tried (i.e. too weak or dark or whatever). It's just bad. Probably my least favorite alcoholic drink, which is freaking bizzare where I come from apparently. Tell me, is that wimpy? Also, I've been listening to a bunch of my grandma's CDs full of Irish drinking songs. Man, they're hilarious. Does anyone know "Lily the Pink?"

Well now... Its Friday, and for some reason I'm reminiscing back roughly 12-13 years, and thinking of going to Steve's Broiler and having a Beer!

Thats a Kölsch. Its supposed to be light colored. And Fruh is a pretty good drink although its better on tap in Germany I would think then imported here. And I agree Germany makes some of the best beers in the world no doubt although I would say Belgium has an array equal to if not better then those of Deutschland.

Having a beer on tap at the brewery is the best no matter where you are.
However, the Taphouse does keep their brews fresh, and one would be in serious need of a cab if they sampled all 160 .... And some of the best brews are from the Deschutes Brewery in Bend Oregon.

* gets deja vu *
Excellent adverts. Nice to see WETA getting other work than mere orcs. Have we been here before recently or have I been drinking too much? There used to be loads of pubs here which had their own micro brewery attached. Now that's heaven. Sadly, it doesn't fit maximising profit margins so most were bought out and closed by the mega brewers punting their homogeneous pish. I am such a mermaid these days when it comes to beer though. Three pints and I'm nuggets. Use to be able to pack 8-10 away, scoff a fish supper, tan a sixteenth and still not get a whitey. |

Well its like any other sport Gaff, when you get out of practice its a whole lot harder to keep up the old pace.
But at least you guys have decent selection in so many of your pubs. Here you have to pick and choose carefuly if you want to find a decent selection. Now I have it pretty good here in the mid atlantic region where there are very good breweries and very good pubs and bars scattered all over. And i was in Chicago a few weeks back and wow they have it even better out there. Went to a place that had like 30 belgians ON TAP!
