I just noticed what you put! OMG! You want to eat me!!!??? So do all you alot think the idea of an animal who wants to be cut up is a good idea (see Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy)? And is it just me or is it only the females who are vegetarians here? Anyway. Have any of you even tried Quorn or veggie sausages?

tofu, IMHO, is the nastiest way to get protein that I can think of! nasty, nasty stuff! How many of you vegies have a problem w/ the piece of cold pepperoni pizza that I'm breakfasting on as I type?
and for the record, yes, I've tried vegetarian sausages. They weren't as awful as tofu, but no match for delicious, wonderful, juicy, dripping-with-fat, yummy MEAT!

Tofu and any other kind of immitation meat is disgusting. I used to have really bad allergies to almost every food, so I got forced into eating some horrible things as a child. My alergies have gotten better since then, and I can tell you there is no substitute for the real thing. There is nothing better than meat.

I can't stomach tofu or most beans (I can eat azuki beans, those of you with bean problems should try them). I need meat in my diet, or at least a lot of fish, or I get woozy, very low on energy, and just plain feel like ****.

I love beans, not that much when eaten plain, but they're really tasty in some dishes like Mexican food etc. *yum yum* Not only are beans a good source of protein, but it actually takes 10 times less energy to create the same amount of protein farming beans than it takes to raise cattle.

I love meat. Expect I have to cut back on it 'cause it's not 100% healthy. It stinks. Waaa, I love meat and I can't have a lot of it any more.

Tofu is my savior!!! Well, I wouldn't be anywhere without it!
I really like some imitation meats, like boca 'chick'n' burgers, and their breakfast sausages, but some of the imitation meat is pretty gross. I love tofu!

Well, have you tried the chick'n boca ones? Those are significantly better than the other burgers.
I find I can get plenty of protein by without meat, and it's a lot healthier that way.

Can't you talk about all of those nasty things in your vegitarian thread? I am nice enough to not post about how much I like meat in your thread.

I know this the meat page - but I was wondering why people chose to be vegetarian. I've known people that were vegetarian for "health" reasons, yet smoked, took drugs and drank. I have two friends that are vegans and they both started smoking. The reason why they became Vegans was for health reasons. Seems ironic to me. Others say it's because it's for humane reasons for the animals.
I eat meat because I like it. I feel you might as well enjoy life and it's a natural thing for humans to eat. We are omnivores after all and I'd rather eat things I enjoy than have to eat tofu and pills to get my nutrients. I tried some of my friends stuff. I just don't like it at all. I love nice juicy steaks, ribs, porks, fish, etc. I don't like chicken as much - but it's okay.

Jerseydevil, you are right, that is ironic...
I am vegetarian, not because I think eating meat isn't natural for humans, I know it is, but because I don't agree with they way we treat the animals we are eat. It is cruel, unethical and immoral to treat animals the way we do. I would eat meat if, say, the human population was much smaller, and the animal was hunted (nicely) or treated very well while it's still alive. I like eating some meats for the taste, but I don't agree with the way animals are treated. Also, I chose not to for health reasons, but I don't drink, (excessively, or often, anyway) smoke, or do drugs, so I am not guilty of that irony. And I do eat fish, and on very rare occasion, chicken, but for the most part I have tried to give meat up.
