I accidentally watched the last half of The Ring on TV the other night ... I say "accidentally" because I have a rather vivid imagination and if I knew what it was about, I wouldn't have watched it because I tend to have nightmares for days (or nights, I guess) after creepy movies - it just looked kinda interesting with the horses and all. What really freaked me out was when she moved in that fast-forward kind of mode ...

She was moving in that typical slow monster kind of movement, where you're just telling the good guy "will you just get up and RUN?!", and then ziiiiiippp! she's a lot closer all of a sudden ... kind of a cool idea, actually, for a monster from a video tape - I wonder if the guy had aimed a remote at her and hit "rewind" if it would have affected her ...

What was kind of funny was that I had just seen Scary Movie 3 last week on tv (I love parodies!) and had no idea it was making fun of The Ring. Then as I watched The Ring, I realized that it was the movie that SM3 was making fun of! So I kept watching it ...

stupid me!

Anyway, that was a two-night nightmare movie. The Sixth Sense was about a four-night nightmare movie.

I am not a big fan of scary movies, mostly beacuse I'm quite scared of tem. I have seen some though, and I thought Ghost Ship was quite scary, atleast until the bad guy came out of the shadows.

Requiem for a dream is maybe the creepiest and scariest movie I've seen, and I have vowed I will never see it again. Thats all the scary movies I remember right now. Not really an asthonising list.

I've never been scared by gore and slashings, really. The one film that will forever stand out for me, is Poltergeist. Heck, all of them. They probably wouldn't have scared me much if I had seen then for the first time now, so there is a nostalgia factor to consider, I think.

As for more recently, I haven't had the time to catch up on all that many decent horror films, but The Ring I and II had me quite spooked. (I'm actually embarrassed to say so, it seems I'm turning into somewhat of a softie.) The first film.. Not so spooky. Went alone to theatres to see it, considered walking home alone in the dark, but there were a few raindrops in the air, so I took the bus. Got home, go to bed, place my head on the pillow, look to the side.. Oh crap. The tv. Staring right at me. Heh. The next days showering was a challenge as I kept "hearing" hands splashing down on wet floor. Saw the second one this easter, while visiting my darling mother. She laughed at me for being spooked by it.

I think I'll just not bother seeing the Japanese versions. At least not until I get a bf.

The scarest films i've seen that i can remember are scary movies 1 and 3 (

) and scream 2 and 3 (haven't seen the original one yet, saw 2 and 3 on tv). They scared the s**t out of me, especially when they had to climb out of the car when he was unconsious and could wake up any time soon.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose kept me awake all night!

But it's a really good movie. I recommend it to all horror fans.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose was a great movie, but not at all what I expected it to be. I expected a full-out horror movie, and what I got was quite possibly the first courtroom horror. But it did do a pretty good job of creeping me out.

Silent Hill was also pretty good. I liked the fact that it didn't rely on things randomly jumping out at you to scare you. It was a more psychological horror. (And plus pyramid-head flaying that girl alive was pretty cool.

) I liked it.

When I was about 9 I watched Gremlins and was pretty scared by that, it is only rated PG! I think it's an older movie so that's why, but they should change it so they don't scare any more unsuspecting kids!

Gremlins scared me enormously when I was about the same age. Children at that age expect something very differently from a 'comedy'! After watching it I had to bribe my sister by playing board games with her just so she'd stay with me. If I was alone I was sure the gremlins would come out.
