I would say Gandalf but he has an anoying habbit of leaving you.

I would go for sam hey hes small and he not as strong as many but has there ever been such a loyal and devotied protector?

Good point about Gandalf.

As for Samwise Gamgee, it depends on what you mean by "safe".
Do you mean safe as in,
"I need a date that won't be all hands?" or
"Oh crap!!! Where did all these orcs come from!?! Wow, I'm glad you are here to help me fight them off!" or
"Ok, I have got this really big secret and I have to tell someone, and I'm going to trust you because you're a good friend and you'll keep your mouth shut."

So, define "safe."

I'd feel safest with either elrond, aragorn or gandalf. I dunno they just have that fatherly, strong, commanding, "nothing can hurt me" air about them don't they?

The original question was who would you feel safest with in a life or death situation?

Ok, that makes more sence. I would have to say Elrond because he has already fought in a war and kicked some booty.

Or, Aragorn. The guy just doesn't seem to lose in a battle.

If I was on the other side, I say the Nazgul witch king. He's scary even without clothes, and you've gotta respect that!

Definitly wouldn't name any of the Hobbits. I would end up defending them! And as brave as Gimili is, well ... he's short. It's hard to hew some heads if your short.

I'm assuming here that we can't name any Valar or Maiar.

I wouldn't feel all that safe with Ilúvatar or Manwë because they're so much more powerful than me.

Agreed. If they were in a good mood and they liked you it would be all gravy. But if either were having a bad hair day, it would be rotten luck for you, peon (meaning me)!

Errgh! [*is tired of Orlando Bloom fans. Once was really impressed with O.B.'s 2 months of training for the FotR movie, now is really nauseated by all this talk.*]

Don't just say your favorite character or or lust object, really think about it.

If you were in Middle Earth which character would you feel safest with in a life or death situation and why?
I would probably pick Legolas, because 1. he's cute
2. He can use his weapon better than I and 3. he knows how to run swiftly.

Not everyone is picking *gag* Legolas, so chill dude. Yes, he has the same skills most other Elves.

BTW, I'm assuming you're from Iceland b/c of your "location". I've always wanted to visit Iceland (if that is where you are from).

I´d feel safest with..

I´d actually feel the safest with Boromir. He´s a trained warrior with a lot of experience about battles, and if you think of his last battle, he managed to kill a huge number of his enemies, against impossible odds.. I have a feeling that he´d be a good protector.
