I haven't seen very many episodes of Kenshin (maybe 10 or so), but it is the next series that I want to get. Do you know if it is complete yet? I have 102 episodes of Inuyasha but I know that they are still being released in Japan.

Have you seen X by Clamp? I highly recommend it if you haven't. It is complete (26 episodes). I haven't seen x/1999 OAV, but I heard that it isn't all that great, so don't judge the series if you just watch that.
thanks! Kirara is awesome! I don't know how many episodes I have seen...not nearly enough, I'm afraid. I have seen all the episodes of Kenshin that they have played so far on CN. It's ag ood show. Did you only see the episodes toward hte beginning or have you seen some of the Kyoto arc? (By the way, I think it's complete if I understand you properly but don't quote me on that) I haven't seen X. Clamp sounds familiar though. Chobits?

Yes, Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura, Angelic Layer, etc.

I believe what I've seen of Kenshin (series) is probably the Kyoto Arc or around there. (I'm not too sure about the breakdown since I'm pretty new to it all.) Somewhere in the 30s. I've seen about 8 consecutive episodes, starting with when he returns to Kyoto and leaves Karou behind. She's pretty upset even though she actually got a "goodbye" which is more than Megumi and the other women got.

I've also seen the Trust and Betrayal, the OAV under Samurai X title. Have you seen these?

BTW, they have issued Part 7 of Inuyasha on DVD. I believe it is episodes 103-114 which is pretty good since I think they are around ep. 121 in Japan. I have seen up through 102, so I am excited to see these new discs.

You picked a good place to start watching Kenshin. It's good in the beginning, but it just gets better through the Kyoto arc. I have seen Trust, but not Betrayal. It never came in the mail; I guess it probably won't ever come...Ah, buying on the internet. I'll see it eventually. Trust was good, anyway. I like Chobits too, so I'll have to keep an eye out for X.

I'm back from Otakon (a convention for anime lovers for those who don't know) ! Even if you were joking, they'd kill you if you'd said that in front of them...
Anyway, I think the anime forum is a good idea.

An anime forum would be nice, but it hardly seems necessary, especially considering all the actual anime message boards out there, many of which I frequent. However, the average IQ here on the Entmoot seems higher than that of many other message boards, so it would be nice to talk with people other than psycho fan girls.

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of people who like anime also like LotR? On the anime message boards I have been to, a lot of people have Tolkien-related names. The latest one, which I saw today, was Dernhelm. Oh and on Hollywood squares there was a girl named Galadriel (not that I watch Hollywood Squares). Cool, huh?

Hobbit why do you frequent this thread when you have expressed a definite dislike of anime? It seems your only purpose here is to say how much anime sucks (BTW, if you do it again, I will take it as a flame), which you have done plenty of times. We all know now that you don't like anime and we appreciate your opinion, but if you have nothing further to add (of USE!) then go and torture some other thread somewhere else.

As for an anime forum, it would be nice but I don't think that there is enough interest to justify an entire forum. If the entertainment forum became saturated with anime threads then I'm sure we would make accommodations.

Kirikou and the Sorceress

Kirikou and the Sorceress is not technically anime because it does not come from the Japanese but from the French. It is a beautifully animated African folk tale. I was wondering if anyone has seen it. Check out the website for pictures, trailers, etc.

I think I have seen some sort of movie(might have been an episode) of it, the little boy is the main character? and his Uncle (or Grandpappy) is this Wizad dude?

Anyway I like Dragon ball Z and GT
Tenchi Muyo and in Tokyo (haven't seen many episodes but what I've seen I like)
Gundam wing (I think the priest dude is funny)
and Yu-Gi-Oh, I think I like it 'cuz it reminds me of chess
I'm not really into anime but I like it (if it is possible )
I don't think I have ever watched it (anime) without Dubbing But I don't mind the dubbing, And what is Cowboy bop (or somsing) .
Forgive me of my ignorantness but it sounds interesting

P.S. What does anime stand for (if anything) and how do you pronounce it?
(my brother could probably answer this but alas, he is gone for three days)
Thanks

Me

That's alright!
Cowboy Bebop is a really cool show about four bounty hunters. I haven't seen it in a while, so I can only remember two names; Spike and Ed. Much of the plot revolves around Spike and his mysterious past, but there is comic relief provided by Ed. Ed is a young and energetic girl and acts really strange sometimes, but she's also the expert hacker in the group. I can't believe I forgot the others' names! Anyway, it's a great show, just make sure it hasn't been dubbed by Chinese translators. The words get mixed up and don't make sense.

Anyhow, I don't know exactly how the word 'anime' came about, but you pronounce 'anime' as you would 'animation' without the 'tion'.

The other two are Faye Valentine and Jet Black. And you can't forget about Ein, the dog! I'll leave their bios up to someone else. Gotta go watch FLCL.

Well, since space craft is the main mode of transportation from one planet to the next, I'd say Cowboy Bebop is set in the future, ne?
