well the way it is written in the book would be hard to film. From a dramatical point of view that is. Helms deep is ment to be when saurman is given them a good kicking in a movie it would lose dramatic effect if he was been defeated at home at the same time. We know helm will be uninterupted. i would like them all to go to isengard at the end because it would be one hell of an ending to a movie. its a bit hollywood i know but it would work well.

Probably not. PJ's version will be definitive for many years to come, I suspect. When they get around to doing it again, TV will probably be interactive and you can choose who you'll be and just plug yourself into it. You won't even know you're in a movie while it's going on. You're right, northsuperior, the Grey Company is Aragorn's bunch, not the dead. I need to read it all again. |

Ack, I just had a thought. Just wait 'til PJ's adaption makes it to TV - ads! There *is* a greater evil!

theonering.net has a link to a PDF file that has a map of the Battle of Helm's Deep. Here's a link to the file: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/pdf/helmsdeep.pdf. (It's about 4.4 MB) If you don't have Acrobat, you can get it from adobe.com.
Which leads me to this: I now doubt the presence of elves at Helm's Deep. They cite New Line Cinema as a source for the map, yet they don't list elves among the Defenders of the Deep or mention them in the list of skirmishes. As Arwen says in TTT trailer -- "There is still hope."
