Maybe someone could start a petition thread to see if we could get a M/F thingy to show on are post.
I wonder what would be a more appropriate way of saying that line up there.

Before this discussion goes out of hand, how about renaming the status as Elfen Lord or Lady, Enting or Enting Lass, Hobbit or Hobbit Lass(?), etc. I'm not sure how the other ranks will be called.

BTW, it took me until I found out from the posts Eruviel's name before I thought she was a she.

No offense taken. I've made that mistake here before too--I also though inoldonil was a woman-sorry inoldonil! Besides, I've got to expect at least one person to think that considering how many times I have insisted that I am actually Legolas! Anyway, to avoid getting off subject. . .er, I dunno what else to say. . .

Actually, insisting that you are Legolas is more proof to me that you are a girl, since the girls seem more impressed w/ him that the guys.

I was watching a foreign film one time (as I was taking a long walk on the beach, having a candle light dinner and... oh...this is the "What MEN want" thread....sorry) and a line I hazily remember said that men are like dogs as women are like cats. Dogs are always happy to see you and can be trained and taught to do what you want them to do. Cats are too independent to roll over and play dead and will ignore you and continue to nap if that's what they want to do.

The next scene showed the guy running over a cat.

All that being said, Legolas is referred to as cat-like so maybe that's why the girls connect with him more.

Or maybe that's because guys are guys and don't want to be seen connecting with a cute character like Legolas. Nothing wrong with that. I'm a girl, (and not lesbian), so it's natural that, although I like seeing a pretty actress in a movie all the same, I wouldn't drool over her. Probably the same thing going on here.
Having said that, cats have style, whatever that means, and are therefore like elves.

I've met quite a few guys who have been impressed with Legolas. The movie Legolas, though. All that stuff with the bow and knives and so on. Which is why I was impressed with him. I want those skills!! But now I'm wondering why people thought I was a guy. . .nevermind

Oh, and cats are quite a lot like elves. Very much so. Maybe that's why I've always liked cats. . .

99% of girls polled wanted to meet Legolas "cuz he's CUUUUTE!"
1% of girls polled wanted to meet Legolas to get him to teach them his archery, knife, etc skills.
Eruviel and I fall into this small percent....

Well, unfortunately, Legolas doesn't use any of the weapons I like, so I can't learn anything from him. I don't like archery much and if I did, it would be Mongolian style. I like spears, straight swords, and nunchucks. Although knives are always in style. If he was an elf magician, I'd like to learn that. Otherwise, he's just cute and stylish.

I read somewhere that he did actually learn to use the knives and do funky stuff.

Mirrille do you practice Wushu?

Actually, Xivigg, he does....he learned archery (lucky!) and, I assume, knife fighting. All the actors did...horseback riding, fighting, etc. Sounds like fun...Heh.

I know for a fact that Orlando Bloom is capable of shooting paper plates in the air. And can probably do some other cool stuff with knives and that bow. Don't ask me how on earth I know this. But I wasn't talking about the actor, I was talking about Legolas, the elf.

That's a very graceful fighting art there; with or without weapons.

I believe that was my fault, Rogue Elf. I have strayed far from the subject. So, what DO men want?

I think we went through it all already. Need I recap?

Another Pailan Quote:
For some the up-top is the thought, but for me (and my wife will vouch for me, after she kills me) and many of my male cohorts, it's like that song: "Girl, you lookin'good. Why don't you back that thing up?"

My ideal women (for looks, although it's about much more then body build. Smile, voice, cut little mannerisms) are Alyson Hannigan and Amy Acker. Drooooooooooooool.........

Then there was that whole hair thing......whatever. Let me see if I can sum it all up.
Every guy is different and wants different things (as can be presumed since I know neither Alyson Hannigan nor Amy Acker). So to make a broad generalization about us all would be to do us discredit. I'd say get to know the guy you're with and what HE likes and what HE wants. Much of the things you'll learn will be applicable to him and him alone.
However I heard it said once that if men could think better then we can see, all women would have PhDs.

Well, then, Kyote Fields, it seems the question has been answered. . .I was just trying to go back to the subject, as we had gone off on a tangent about Legolas
