There, there. *pats Hector's back*

And WHAT are you doing to keep you so busy? Or just not going anywhere?

...if it's any consolation for you, most likely this year will be the last holiday this big... or holiday at all, for us. As it seems now, my mum most likely will be unemployed by this time next year.
*kicks those people's butts whose idea was to merge government offices under the name of 'reducing costs'* Wonderful times.

Well, my Surveying job eats up time like an ant-eater eats ants.

Thanks for the consolation, though I see you might need some yourself. Sorry about the lousy company decision!

Hey there BB.

So, how 'bout YOUR holiday?

(It's your turn, btw!!)

on a serious note: religious country? gimme a break, people may or may not be religious, and I'm farkin' fed up with ALL the debates already, just not worth torturing me poor brain with getting into a totally different mindset and situation. and by that, I mean both sides...

geez, that was so totally off-topic
so... this is where we're going:

Omis, Croatia

wooooow.... All I need is a souvenir. Maybe some sand from the beach, a rock from the bank...just the fact that it was in a different country is enough to make me swoon!

...that's how she's thinking too. Last time we talked about it, she said, "Worst of all, I'll be at home gardening and cooking."

See you. And I repeat: It's. Your. Turn.

I have returned Friday from a three week holiday on Corsica and it was great! Very good weather, although with surprising large amounts of thunderstorms. The first week we never stirred much from our book or our seat in the sun. Then we went a few times to the beach to snorkle, visited a museum, supported the local artisans, and went of a few hikes. The sunburn was not so nice and I hadn't even been much in the sun yet. Fne.

Again I reserve that 'special hell' for people who light bush-fires and people who fish in designated reserves. Assholes. It's disconcerting to see how many people don't read the rules of the parks and reserves. I wanted to smack quite a number of them.

We drove a few hundred kilometers, practically to the other side of the island, to visit a marine aquarium that, as it turned out, had been closed down two years ago. The risk of using older holiday guides... But we managed to get on a boat trip to the marine reserve Scandola (UN world inheritage site!) instead. Gorgeous! Even if none of the resident eagles put on a presentation.

And it had definitely been a good year for butterflies, dragonflies, lizards and frogs, who were present in record numbers. I returned home with about 450 digital photo's of only them. Eh, what can I say. I love Nikkie's macro function. Maybe I'll bump the photography thread with some of my best.

I sure don't! I've had about as much vacation as I can handle! I haven't had one moment of real relaxation this summer. Either cursed with insomnia, or tiring out by three in the afternoon (after having 8 hours or so of sleep), I haven't had a truly relaxing vacation this summer.

Perhaps an Rx from your doctor-if over the counter stuff doesn't help you sleep.

Personally I've just tried Ambien-CR and found it works quiet well for me.
