I spent a good chunk of the hour looking up the original Japanese. I think I found it. Here's both:
The falling flower I saw drift back to the branch Was a butterfly Rakka eda ni kaeru to mireba kochou kana It comes from a Buddhist proverb, "A fallen flower never returns to the branch", so it would sound something like, "When I thought the fallen flower would return to the branch, oh! it was a butterfly". Of course, the teacher doesn't know Japanese so it wouldn't have helped her. Anyway, I mean, studying translated poetry is fine, not ideal, but it's ok...as long as you remember that it's a translation. I think the class needs to practice trying to decide what the author really intended. To remember that authors are human and try to imagine the writing process. |

I wasn't expecting to be home tonight, but I ended up calling in because I really need to rest my voice for tomorrow. So I came home, practiced my singing for about an hour and a half, and now I'm resting and relaxing. It's nice .

Stick with your books. You're safer that way.

You can't say "Elven" and "gun" in the same phrase!
BTW, is anyone else aware that everyone seems to have lost many posts from their account? I mean, I'm supposed to have 500+ posts, but when I look at the number next to my avvie, it says 367 (after this one). What's this, or is it just me? <-< >-> O.o

You mean stick with my recurve? We just street-legaled our quads a few weeks ago, and it just came in very handy. Our car was in the shop, and was supposed to be ready this morning, and it wasn't, and I had to get a book to my son at school, so I just popped on the quad and drove to school! Very fun. I got a thumbs-up from one of those guys twirling signs on the corner

Rian, that does sound cool ^_^
From what I've seen on pictures those quads are rather small though. Isn't it uncomfortable? Hiya Sas! Been a while indeed! I just re-read a thread yesterday and I saw a post by you, so I had to think of you. What a coincidence Well, I'm off to bed now. Be good everyone!

I'm trying to find some straight up good tea. Is that possible at American supermarkets?

It usually is. I don't know how you grade tea (it could be to a higher standard than I do) but my family has often found a good selection of tea in the standard super market (I think it's in the coffee aisle but don't quote me on it)
