There once was a man named Lucas,
Who wouldn't write stories about Pookas, But still refused to just sit on his tookas, And so he made movies that had lots of bloopas. |

Umm... Here Goes Nothing Sit at a chair Swallow despair Set out with intent To make a dent Prob'ly for naught Just get caught Here goes nothing Smile a smile Sing for a while Hope to get seen It's just a dream Prob'ly for naught Just can't get caught Here goes nothing Tear up within But hold up my chin All proud without Carry no clout But I can pretend It's fine in the end Here goes nothing Cry in my room Think of doom The world is all bleak The roof one giant leak Can't get ahead Anyway, it's all been said Here goes nothing Great tears of red And soon I'll be dead And who will have cared How I never fared Save drinking my tears And eating my fears Here goes nothing But light's up above There's Someone to love Abd if I just fade I'll have it made Give up this shell All's well that ends well Here goes nothing

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down. I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year! |

The Taste of Life
Things tasted different, when I was younger,
kittens were softer, men were more alluring, the smell of the air had a quality unsurpassed. Now things taste different, not bad, not less good, not at all. Just different. That's life, I suppose. That's how it goes, different. Always different. --Mia Buonarotti P.S. - Rosie G, awesome poem! Was that really "instant?" Good stuff, indeed.

I really like that, Lotesse.
Exactly what it feels like to me to be turning 30 this year.

That's very... Zen sounding. I personally, am of the belief that life gets to be more and more of a bummer as you go. At least that's what my experience keeps leading me to conclude. But, hey, there's always Heaven beyond, so I'm good!

I don't mean to depress anyone. Life's really not that bad, I suppose. I was having a lousy day. Sorry.

Will I ever be ok?
be ok with the hug will I ever stop wishing it were more snug showing signs of grief at the sight of me she turns the leaf that tomorrow I might go home take my time, be alone stop wishing she'd visit that's not what we need! We need space space to climb to beem, to scream a place where we can live without her as a lid ask her for a better time she'd say "show me the better rhyme" turn and say like the better days we were happy snogging sappy like the better days when we were friends when summer was around the bend and nowhere near it's end should we say goodbye? try with all our might? let go of the memorys? or hold them tight? she wants to let go I say no she says yes we both know it's best we'd drown each other wrestle over the hose such wonderful days better than most but it's ending it's over but it's ok we had our wonderful days. Bit of a mess...but so are my thoughts, so oh well. Off the top of your head, right? Last edited by Bran : 10-12-2005 at 06:19 PM. |

Swell! I love it. It articulates some thoughts of mine that run along the same lines.
Neat old thread, The poet thread. We are smart We climb the charts Sneaking our rhymes In unmetered times In this neat thread The poet thread. Only poets allowed And venting's allowed. When we are sad When we are glad Vent what you feel Go on--spill a spiel Who needs the decorum Of the General Topics forum? Only poets allowed And venting's allowed. I'm glad to disguise For rhyme's a disguise. Nasty sentiment To a screen lent No consolation Just praise and elation For a thought well-said In a poet's head I'm glad to disguise For rhyme's a disguise. Neat old thread The poet thread. We come to share Smiles and despair In spontaneous thought Which to the mind brought Is conferred with delight For others to sight In this neat thread The poet thread.

Here's one I just wrote...really fast, too.
Headlock The bubbling cracks, skipping stones she wouldn't believe me, but I'd seen it it was there, and will be ever after shed it off, the news won't surprise me say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, open wide the water of life, broken mind mended the space won't sacrifice itself you'll just need to learn to live the warm sounds of heaven, keep me down calm, lonesome, broken maybe tomorrow I'll find my way I wish I were the headlock the broken bones I wish she were the bandage the mending I needed I wish it were the truth wish you didn't lie wish you dinn't lie why can't you skip that part Speak the truth, or shoot me down help me through, or put me in the ground admit you can't, or close the coffin sleep with me, or sing me to death wish I were the headlock the warm sounds of heaven, keep me down calm, moving, solem it feels so warm sounds warm feels warm holds warm tastes warm warm lies!!!!!!!! cling to it, like a babe to his mother bury the memorys deep down where they'll never be found the warm sounds of her, keep me down wish I were the headlock maybe tomorrow I'll find my way. Oh how I wish that it were Thanksgiving,
With turkey, cranberries, and plenty of trimming, I'd eat all my fill, then stuff a bit more, until my gore had become quite a bore! Oh how I wish that it were Thanksgiving, With turkey, cranberries, and plenty of trimming, I've been sick a full month now, and we all agree, Thanksgiving's the only thing that will help me! Oh how I wish that it were Thanksgiving, With turkey, cranberries, and plenty of trimming, I'd lay on the couch and take a long nap, Till the food in my stomach had turned all to fat! |

The sudden rain makes some insane,
and she says "Bring it on!" in vain; and little things run fast and hard and curl up, and duck down, and - just to keep dry, take the train... Just to stay out of the rain. - hey, this is "Instant poetry," folks, not preconceived and well-edited, careful poetry. Instant, meaning if you think of it right this instant, you post as it comes to you. I miss this old thread... Bran, I really liked "Headlock." Especially this part: Speak the truth, or shoot me down help me through, or put me in the ground admit you can't, or close the coffin sleep with me, or sing me to death wish I were the headlock NICE! Very good poem.

Okay, I havn't written a poem, or even thought about, since maybe 5th grade. Yesterday was Dr. Seuss' 102 birthday and I forgot about it untill today. I decided in his honor I'd write, think up, a poem about my time so far on the moot. Ive decided to write it in the style of e.e. cummings who never used caps or puncuation. It makes it easier.
*clears throat...takes a deep breath* the internet i found there must be a reason a cable line downed ah the storm season theres plenty of info some a bore my computer runs slow yet i come back for more a tolkien search was ran theres the entmoot hold my exitment if i can for all the girls are cute theres something for all the guys are real cool im having a ball the cafe has a pool the kitchens five star inspectors are clubed with a fish theres even a bar stop by eat a dish the mods theres not a bunch their regulations are fair i havnt dealt with them much i think one has gold hair the theorys may seem weird but all of them great theres talk of elves with a beard and eating on both sides of a plate the quizes are rough the games are fun the moot answers the tough everyones bright as the sun this is my poem bad it may be but the moot is my home where you always feel free *sprints off stage*
