just come back from seeing 'United 93'. wow, it deserved all the 5 star ratings it got. i'm not afraid to admit this, but at the end of the movie, when it says that everybody died, i so nearly cried my eyes out, it was that powerful. and i'm nearly 17!

Went to see Superman Returns yesterday. I fell asleep but I think that was just from the jet lag.

I'm glad to hear that it was good. A part of me gets a little ticked when I see such events being used to make what could be pure entertainment.

As for crying, I'm nearly twenty and I still bawl my eyes out at movies I've watched a hundred times.

Just watched Scarface again! I love Tony Montana! The rest of this post, were I to try and write it, seems like it wants to turn into "Remember this scene? That was so awesome!" over and over so I guess...

Oh my god I love Tony Montana but he's such a bum. (>_<);

Tristan + Isolde, Pretty good I must say. Not like I was expecting.

Hoodwinked make-you-pee-your-pants funny. I never thought of the Little Red Riding Hood Story in that way before.

Madea's Family Reunion, Just plain funny.

The 2004 BBC miniseries with Richard Armitage.

Lovely. Quite lovely.

I saw a really weird Spanish movie on AMC a few weeks ago, a black and white from about 1962 in the surrealist style. I forget what it is called, but it was about some high society people who go back to a couple's house for a dinner party, and then can't leave for some unknown reason. It was very strange, but quite interesting and compelling. A good deal of symbolism/ social commentary embedded in it.

Here's another REALLY weird spanish movie (well, it was IN spanish).

It was called Cavesa de Vaca, and basically these explorers get into the hands of some voodoo practicing natives, and it's really creepy.

there's this very strange midget indian who chants incantations so that the captives, if they try to run away, just run in circles. Scary.

Running Scared. I thought is was going to be terrible. I mean, it's got Paul Walker in it after all, but it was surprisingly good. Really good.

I just saw "The Island" That one was weird! This is the movie where the main characters discover they are clones, whos sole purpose in life is to be killed and provide spare parts for people.

I also saw "Sahara" That one was good.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - Excellent movie!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Another excellent movie! The special effects were great, and I'd have to say I like this one better than the first, though it's a very close choice. The only thing about Dead Man's Chest is (spoiler!)
the ending is so suspenseful!

I saw Click tonight. I thought it was pretty funny actually but the whole dramatic stuff at the end was way long and drawn out, not to mention predictable. But it was still funny.

Besides Pirates (Savvy!), we've recently seen Animal Farm (scarily weird), Jurassic Park, and some other movies that I can't remember right now.

I just watched the anime movie Grave of the Fireflies ("Hotaru no Haka"). I heard a lot of people telling me about it and so I wanted to see for myself. My mom cried and it was so sad she couldn't watch the whole thing, but another friend was just like "Get over it and toughen up, you brats". And my... boyfriend type relation said he cried too. I did just a little bit. It was really sad but also kinda long. It's a story about these two kids trying to survive on their own in the middle of WW2 in Japan.
