*chuckles* I just saw the final 2 minutes of some soap in which a baby appeared. According to the actors the baby was 6 weeks, but if that baby really was 6 weeks, I'm 52.

Started where I left off on my last LotR re-read. Ok, well, not exactly.... I left off at "Helm's Deep" and I restarted at the very end of the chapter after that, right before "Flotsam and Jetsam". Yay.

Mari - they've also started using mechanical babies a lot, too - if you keep a sharp eye out, you can often tell when.

Really! I've never noticed that. Do they look even remotely real?

Yes, they do for several seconds - then you can notice either the actor covering the baby up more and/or not being quite as careful as with a real baby, or notice *just something* mechanical about the baby. I saw a program on it, and they've really gotten them quite good now, but there's just these little differences you can see in the examples they show.
Of course, I can't confirm if I'm right or not, but if you're looking for it, and esp. if you've had a baby yourself! , you can just kinda tell, if the shot is for more than a few seconds long.

ps - not so much for older babies, but for newborns, like in hospital shows.

"Sons of Anarachy" did that in their first season. One of the characters' son was born premature due to his mother's stupidity. They have several scenes of the baby in the incubator of NICU ad it is obvious the baby is mechanical

Also, sweet corn is even more awesomer straight out of the freezer.

Speaking of lunch, I think my cat likes onions

One of ours has a taste for mushrooms. And as he happens to be small and has furry feet, I'm sort of suspicious as to his ancestry...

Hell, yes. Best sit com since Frasier, as far as I'm concerned. Just so many wonderful, wonderful characters to laugh at.

Seriously, if someone tells you he had a dream in which he was worshipping Cher, what does that say to you?

I dreamed about a cat that could speak words (not really talk, just say words like a parrot). Its owner was Chinese so it could only say Chinese words. I got it on video camera saying "Zai jian!"
