The one with the moon is very pretty. ^_^
I was surprised at how much colour the larva already has!

Can't find this one in my book, so probably is not a species that features over here. Still, lovely colouring.

Some more of my insect photos!
Some older which I don't think I've linked to yet: Dragonfly: Southern Hawker (Aeshna cyanea) Dragonfly: Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum) Butterfly: Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus) And some new ones. Now of these fellas, I'm kinda proud. These things are fast and I had never even seen them properly until now. They sure are some pretty butterflies, inside and out, and incidentally also the biggest day-butterfly that can be found in the European skies. Butterfly: Two-tailed Pasha (Charaxes jasius) Butterfly: Two-tailed Pasha (Charaxes jasius)

Thanks!
Of course if the butterflies and dragonflies wouldn't cooperate, none of my photos would be any good. My parents often laugh if they hear me complaining to the butterflies while taking pictures: "Would you sit still?!No, no, don't move! No... Argh!" And it's.... rewarding to be able to come home, upload the photos and dive in the books to see what insect it is I photographed. Two years ago, I barely could tell two common butterflies apart, never mind dragonflies. Now I can identify more than a dozen on close sight. It makes me feel smart.

Those are GREAT photos!!!
One problem: I think there was some kind of error... instead of coherent comments on the photos, you seem to have typed in gibberish. *RUNS from all of the native Dutch speakers before they can beat him silly* |

But my camera does come with a macro-function which allows me to come really close to small objects without blurring.

Yeah, I quite like the church picture taken from a low angle. Looks really good.
I'll jump in with some insects and arachnids.. The first two ones are taken with my friend's macro lens (on my camera), the others with my, still, only lens (the kit lens). A Camponotus-worker (carpenter ant) A butterfly, taken in monochrome since my friend didn't remember to put it back to normal after using my camera, and because I'm silly enough not to shoot in RAW.. X) A bumblebee hiding under a flower just before it started raining.. Same individual. And, finally, the promised arachnid. 8)
