Sorry for the hiatus..

OK, you're right so far, but after the balrog seized the door, used a counter-spell and the door started to open, how did Gandalf stop it?

He cause a collapse of the cieling and blocked it. Really, how do you suppose we should know that? Tolkien didn't note that.

Where? Is it in 'The Bridge of Khazad Dum', or another chapter?

Oooh, you're cheating!!

Well, I presume that I've expressed myself VERY poorly in this question, since the answer is in black and white in the Bridge chapter.

Gandalf says that he had to speak the "word of Command".

Sorry about that (or maybe I defeated the triviasters). Anyway, here's another question:

What kind of (walking?) tree don't you get in the Northfarthing?

Thanks TG.

Okay, it's been a long time since I posted a trivia question, and I notice that RtB is still on the prowl for new questions, so how's this? What happened immediately after Menelvagor appeared?

"Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends."

"Very well,' he answered aloud, lowering his sword. 'But still I am afraid. And yet, as you see, I will not touch the creature. For now that I see him, I do pity him."

Guessing...

Is it something like:

"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them"...??
