Really good book. The Thomas Common translation is hard to understand, but if you read bits a few times it makes more sense.

"And we're back on M.O.O.T. 102,2 with the Moots (featuring the Mootettes) playing this Shangri-La tune..."

"hey, Mari? is that Hector's ring you're wearing?"
"uh huh."
"oh! must be nice posting on the moot after dinner, huh?"
"uh huh."
"is he picking you up after log in today?"
"unh uh!"
"well, where'd ya meet him?"

I met him at the Teacup Cafe.
He turned around and smiled at me.
Ya get the picture? (yes, we see)
That's when i fell for the Hector of the Moot.

My folks were always puttin' him down.
Down! down!
They said he came from the wrong side of town.
They told me that he was bad,
But i knew that he was sad.
And thats why i fell for the Hector of the Moot.

One day my dad said, "find someone new."
New! new!
I had to tell my Hector that,
Whoa, we were through.
He stood up and then he asked me why.
But all i could do was cry.
I'm sorry i hurt you,
Hector of the Moot.

He sort of smiled and he kissed me goodbye.
The tears were beginning to show.
And as he drove away from me
On that rainy, rainy night,
I begged him to go slow.
But whether he heard me
I'll never, never, never, never know!
Look out now, now, look out!
Whoa oh no no no! whoa no no no! no! no!

I felt so helpless! what could i do-wo-wo-wo-wo?
The only, only love that we had was through.
At school they all stop and stare.
I can't hide the tears.
I just don't care!
I will never forget you,
Hector of the Moot!
Whoa-oo-woh! gone gone gone!
Gone gone gone!
Hector of the Moot is,
Now he's gone!
Hector of the Moot is,
Now he's gone!
Hector of the Moot is, whoa gone!
Gone gone gone!
Gone gone gone!
Gone gone gone!

Knees = win.

Haha! LOL! Nothing more eternal that lack of meaningful existence. At least if you're solipsist its all part of your imagination.

But perhaps you are mistaken. Nietzsche was an existentialist, and vehement critic of nihilism.

I've read Nietzsche a few times. I understand where he is coming from, but wasn't too impressed.

I agree that Life has no inherent meaning, it only has the meaning you give to it. But meh.

I have a new dog! His name is Elroy. I went halfsies on him with a friend.

*Sleeps-walk into the cafe*

I need coffee mumble mumble, and on the double! Or I'll miss my bus

Wow yesterday I fell like no person has ever fallen before I was running from the University grounds to the bus station, and its downhill! And icy!

I think you'll find it easy to imagine what happened when I reached the bottom of the hill and stepped on one ridiculously sized-ice chunk on the pavement that coincidentelly was positioned right in front of the passengers on the bus!! 'Nuff said

And Nietzsche is boring!

*is trying to spot a sunny spot in the Cafe, but has to conclude it's not going to happen today* Ah well, I'll stake out near the fire then.
It's pretty cold today. I wonder if we'll get snow.

Somehow I think I will receive nasty news when my mum gets home. Good thing I just passed my test 86% I am quite pleased.

We've got sunshine up here=) Took a few days for it to arrive..

What's up with the snow chaos in London? A little more less than 10 centimeters of snow on the ground and the entire city shuts down

Tabby, if you're not reading Robert Heinlein, you're hanging out at the wrong bookshelf.

They aren't supposed to. However, I have, so I guess I'm not a true Philosopher. But why should I care what others say? I'm too free a soul to be bound to the will of others.

Thanks for the advice on clayborn. I guess Tuomas Holopainen just meant it to be clay born (it was in the lyrics of "The Escapist".) And YAY! I figured that in "Elvenpath", the "uncarven path" refers to the path the Elves sail to west:
"Tapio, Bearking, Ruler of the forest
Mielikki, Bluecloak, healer of the ill and sad
Open the gate and let me follow the uncarven path"

Yeah, that's kind of how I feel about philosphy, but I've never been able to explain it to people.
