They most certainly are. They even tell me they like me creative assignments. They're polite too, which isn't always the case as I've seen in my last 2 jobs. There's a possibility of this becoming a permanent job, so that is really good too.
RE: the board conversation: Entmoot really introduced me to the whole message boarding experience. Through here I found a message board/ forum I also frequent a lot. It's a bit more active than this one and it's very general. I met people from here and from EuropeForum. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Sometimes it's strange tot hink I only know you all for about 6 years now, since it feels like much longer (in a good way ).

Nice and polite! That sort of kid still exists? I had been wondering, or maybe that's just a sign of me getting old.

Yeah, it seems to me like the makers of that show feel like they have to kill someone off for no reason every now and then. "Welp, it's about time someone got bit by a zombie. Who will it be this week, guys?" And then they draw names out of a hat and whoever Steve picks is the one who dies. (I just picked "Steve" as a random possible name for a producer or writer or whatever. It could just as easily be a "Phil" ) Quote:
Every time I considered going elsewhere in the 'Moot, I would get hopelessly lost and fairly overwhelmed. I'm glad I finally did venture out of the gaming threads, though. *Yay*

Rian, I'm totally living out your signature right now:
"I should be doing the laundry right now, but this is MUCH more fun!" That. Is. Me.

I was super surprised too. I mean: most of my previous students are nice enough people but being nice to a teacher would never cross their minds. Saying you like an assignment will pretty much get you kicked out of social life till graduation. It's different here. I work at a Vrije School and apparently the parents who send their kids to schools like this are already less controlling. Because of that the kids will feel less need to rebel in class. Or so the theory goes.

I got to play some harp today, and that was great fun. Tried to sing along a bit, too, but it's quite difficult to play and sing at the same time. All in all feeling quite elvin today.
I'm glad you got a few goodies, Mari. Does it make the teaching feel worthwhile? I know my private voice students who are appreciative make it all worth my time. |

Making beautiful things from molten iron and steel is amazingly awesome and worth the sore, tired ache that it brings afterwards. That is all...

If you ever have photos of your smithy handiwork, sane, I'd love to some.
I've been taking up crocheting and knitting lately, just because it's so nice to make something with your hands once in a while. |

Yes, it is! Nothing like a nice warm blanket made by a friend or family member

So true. I made a blanket for my sister's newborn baby a short while ago. Last month I got a text from her saying "By now I'm starting to get compliments on the blanket from total strangers on the street, isn't it time you open up a webshop for these things?" Made my day.

So, I went walking/jogging last night, then took a long walk with the dog this morning, and I HAVE BEEN SO HUNGRY ALL DAY!! I also log in another good one to two miles of walking on campus because I park so far away (intentionally... so that I get some exercise!!!)
I finally broke down and had two slices of pizza and some chocolate pretzels because I've been really light headed and dizzy all day, and I have two tests this evening so I can't afford to be thinking sluggishly. I'm probably just on a sugar high, because I've been eating so healthily the last five weeks and just stuffed myself on chocolate and pizza, but holy cow I went from feeling like I was about to fall over to wanting to jump up and go run a mile. THANKS, SUGAR!!!!! |

Eating healthy is all very fine, love, but you want to make sure you get enough energy from it to do your daily things. Getting light-headed and dizzy from lack of nutrition doesn't sound all that healthy to me. Makes me worry.

Honestly I'm usually fine, the difficulty is making sure that I eat healthily on campus so I do inevitably end up going long periods between eating. Usually it's not an issue, and I just eat right before I go to school, and right after I get home, or I go and eat a salad at school, but I'm not used to exercising so much because I've been a lazy butt for a while. I forgot how much more food you need when you exercise!!!!!

I agree with Eärniel. If you keep your general energy level a little higher, then you wouldn't need that sugar high in between.
Make sure you get the amount of calories that you need - and with extra exercise, you'll need a little extra - and then get those calories from food that will give you the protein and vitamins and minerals that you need, i.e. healthy food. You are allowed a fair amount of calories, you know. In fact, you need them. In the right amount, calories are your friend. Edit: Just about cross-posted there

Yeah, but it isn't the first time you got light-headed. *strict mom-look* So get some calories in your system, young man, don't make me come over there and cook you a decent meal!
