Okay, so I'm a total dork-head.

I was sitting at my computer tonight thinking, "Man, I hate music theory! I know it makes me a better musician, but I just want to sing, I don't want to--"

and then it hit me.

I CAN COMPOSE STUFF!!!!! O.o

I had totally forgotten that I gave up composing music because I didn't understand how to match up a left hand melody/chord/arpeggio to the right hand melody that I had written. I have lots of pages of half-composed melodies that I gave up on because I couldn't figure out how to give it an accompaniment.

I can do that now! I know how a lot of the (simple!) chords and stuff work... So I tried throwing something together in Finale, and by golly it WORKED! o.O

I was like... holy bubbleh! I can compose again! My music theory knowledge is... useful. Not just in context of a few years from now, but like... applicable. Right now!

*glee!*

had a great weekend on a social insect-conference in tartu, estonia. i had two good friends with me, and every night we went out sledging when the rest of the gang sat in the hotel bar - great way to spend time. beautiful city, too. young and lively, a lot of students, and we had snow every day.

a well-needed holiday.

Haha, you're a smartass Tessar!
It's nice to realize that a course actually has its use though

Wow. I'm envious.

I've only vacationed in hot foreign places, no cold ones.

But I'm wild about the Norway movie at Epcot.

lol Tessar. Sometimes education is useful. Who knew? You should join my new facebook group.

I just got a pet-application at Face book 2 days ago and he is soooo cute! He's a tiger and off course I called him Aeran, allthough he can't compete with a sabertooth tiger off course.
I'm also very happy with my music chirstmas tree app, but unfortunately my friends won't accept the darn thing, so I can't hang them in my tree and find a good song for them.

I am too happy. Especially since I'm finally getting on with my essay which is due Wednesday... Should work a little harder and I may actually be able to finish it on time!!!

sometimes it's very amusing to see how people react on something they find different.. and how quickly rumours spread. i was at a conference in estonia over the weekend. we stayed at a hotel, and naturally they put me in the same room as some random girl and not with my very good friend who was also there - because he's a guy. he shared his room with another friend of ours, though, so i ended up sleeping there anyway. and my, did we get looks from the others on the conference. *laughs* silly people..

I'd take not. The more I'm around the general public, the more anti-social I become. I'll be truly happy if one day I can be by myself and underwater for a looooong time.

O yeah, I can live with living somewhere quite! I live in the city now, but as soon as I'm done with my study I'm out of here.

So true. That reminds of our last-year trip in college. They had put two guys together in a room with a double bed, and they were embarassed, I believe mainly because class mates started to laugh they must have been gay. My friend and I got asked to change rooms eventually 'cos 'women are less wimpy about sharing the same bed'. Truth is, we really didn't mind. We did lose the big balcony in the deal, but we had great fun afterwards laughing with our class mates who saw guys on our balcony and thought we had invited them to our room. They (rather amateurishly) spent the next 15 minutes trying to spy on us, not knowing we had changed rooms. Good times were had on that trip.

I KNOW! Guys are such dorks about sharing a bed.

There were three of us in a room at the singing thing, and one guy was being shy about wanting to share a bed, saying that 'someone would have to sleep on the floor'. Thank God the other guy didn't care . I was -not- going to be sleeping on the floor.

I just wanted to say, "Okay, you're straight, so I'm not exactly worried about you grabbing me. I keep my hands to me, so you have nothing to worry about. WHY THE PROBLEM!?"

When I sleep over at my friends place, we usually sleep in the same bed. It's huge, but I still have to fight with her and her dog over space
