There's two books out of the way. Now all that's left is the Silmarillion (I assume we aren't going to pull stuff from HoME or Letters or Farmer Giles or anything in this thread).
So the hints so far are: Gwindor & his brother, Silmarillion. I'll add one more but this should give it away: NÃ*rnaeth Arnoediad.

Edit: nevermind. I did that thing where I didn't read to the bottom of the thread.
For the record, I would like to note that I did guess the final words correctly from that quote (if I couldn't guess the speaker). My post was ignored and in a slightly selfish little tantrum, I'd like everyone to know that I figured them out! =D Val can go ahead and take it, though. I just want some recognition. Sorry, Midge, I was confused. Looking back you did guess the missing words correctly but with them listed out of context, out of order (I think you had all before deal), and with a looonnnng list of other guesses thrown in at the end, I just didn't get it. It's a lot easier (for me, anyway) when the guesser puts up the entire quote.
