Illness. Convalescence. I'm inbetween. And I found a head-ache from there. >_< Was in bed for 2 days, then got up and a little more active. Now I'm working. Cause I don't wanna miss the art club.

Damn it, sleep! Why are you evading me! I've got class in seven hours, already; let's get to it!
On another note, is it terribly, terribly cheesy that I'm kinda liking this song?

Nah, not at all. It's a catchy tune, and Adam Lambert is an incredible singer. He really emotes when he sings, so I think he elevates cheesy songs to a higher level .

Did I say "kinda"? Cause I meant "really."
I first stumbled upon him when I was checking out different takes on Feelin Good, and his from Idol really jumped out at me. So, this is the second time. I may need to get his CD. >.> Oh, great, and now the thunder starts. That'll help me sleep.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
Just got back from the beach, and getting the barbecue ready- looks like it's going to be a clear night for viewing the full moon. I post this every year, but for those not in the know, Mid-Autumn Festival (aka Moon Festival) is one of the major Chinese holidays. It's sort of like American/Canadian Thanksgiving- orginally a Harvest fest held on the first full moon of autumn, it's mostly family reunion and sitting around stuffing yourself, in this case with barbecue, while sitting outside watching the full moon. It's nice to cruise around at night and watch everyone gathered in family groups, just dropping on whomever, and always getting a warm welcome.

The lady I went with was a Navajo Indian - she's married to a Vietnamese man, who is currently on a business trip in Amsterdam, and our daughters are best friends so she asked us to join her. We met some of her family, walked around a bit, watched some eating contests (did they do that there? The people here ate watermelons and Moon cakes) and some dancing then had dinner. The first dragon dance (with a red dragon, a white dragon and a man in a mask) was really fun - I fell in LOVE with the white dragon - the guy inside just gave him so much character. Amazing what you can do with head movements, blinking eyes, wagging mouth and wiggling ears And then how they jumped onto the guy in the tail of the dragon all of a sudden and got really tall (do they jump on his shoulders?) was fun. And my daughter and I finally got our long-desired Boba tea - haven't had any since we moved from California. I liked these little Boba balls better - they had just a touch of sweetness ... yum! Such fun when they shoot up your straw and hit the back of your mouth!

Yes! (Well, Pinyin actually, ie Chinese transcribed into Roman letters). Zhōngqiūjié litterally means Mid-Autumn Festival.
