Update on my dad - he's feeling SO much better after the epidural block! The pain is VERY much reduced - he ate better last night than he has in weeks, and he only got up once at night instead of many, many times! yay!

When they gave him the IV prior to surgery, his veins kept blowing out - constant pain is such a tremendous stress on the body. Anyway, now I hope he'll be able to heal.

I hate it when people say "nope" and "yep," in a response to anything. Just sounds so crass, and common, and pompous to me. Nope! Yep! Yeah yeah, whatever. I always hated that, always, since I was a little girl.

Yes, it's GREAT news - that pain-drawn look was gone from his eyes even an hour after surgery.

It's hard to see people you love in pain.

ps - got yer goods, will check them out tomorrow when brain has rested a bit ...

Oh my god, do I say "yep" and "nope"? I don`t think I do. Are there a lot of people who don`t like it besides Lotesse? She`s scary... I like your new-ish avatar by the way. I always liked the owl thing.

Glad to hear it Rian.

Nah, she's harmless. As for "yep" and "nope", I use them all the time, and I don't have a problem with those who do. Straight to the point. No nonsense.

I guess it never occured to me to be annoyed by those words so then I start thinking I`m probably doing a lot of annoying things without thinking about it. And I think I fear Lotesse in a sort of respect way.

Thanks, Katya! I was thinking about you the other day; I was watching this program of some Japanese guys who like to go to this freezing cold waterfall and sit under it, to "clear their spirit" or something like that. It was on the Travel Channel. Anyway, I was wondering how you were doing. And these special trees they were talking about, trees that were only chopped down to re-timber these certain very special shrines, shrines which have been maintained for like a thousand years or something phenomenal like that.

You don't say "yep" and "nope!" Not like certain people tend to do, when they want to sound superior and - well, superior. That's not even in your style, at all. You are way above that, Katya, for real.

Yes, well, with you it's always all good. You can say yep and nope till the bleedin' cows come home, and it fits in context of what is being conversed about. Certain people don't have this talent, though, and tend to be superficially flippant where it seems like it'll suffice for a response, to sound "cool." And it just ends up sounding like a snobby veiled insult, in a way. Ahhh, never mind, you guys!! Forget it, never mind. I just don't like "Yep & Nope," at all, never did.

Yay! ^_^ I`m doing pretty well, thank you. It`s hard getting on without internet at the house. I`ve been here today way too long already today. But let`s hang out again when I do have internet, starting the 4th. And if you have any questions about Japan feel free to ask.

Yep! I like it, too.

Personally, I think it's a friendly-sounding type of response. Kind of a "we don't have to be formal because we're friends" type of thing.

Katya, you can't please everyone, so just do what you think is right. Don't waste time worrying about "yep" and "nope", for sure! You're really nice, and it shows!

I will! There's much I'd love to ask you, about Japan. A friend of mine is still there, my friend Rebekah, teaching English somewhere in Tokyo but she doesn't like Tokyo. She says they tease her, the Japanese do. She's a sort of ding-batty redhead, sweet American girl but - well, a dingbat. And her Japanese students give her a hard time.

I'm glad you logged on here at Entmoot, too, Katya; I was beginnig to wonder where you've been. I still want to get together with you on that tattoo design, remember? My best friend's getting out soon, and I'd love for her to see a design first before I commit to having it engraved permanently in my skin. I want us (me & my best friend) to both get the same little design, the ring in Tengwar that you started to design last summer, remember?

LOL! Whatever suits them! I'll stay over here with the fire and the fresh pot of hot loose-leaf tea!
Yeah (okay, fine, Yep. I had to think to stop myself from saying it!). It depends on the conversation. Although, I don't see how it makes you superior. Actually, I'm guilty, because that's ALL I say at home. But we're rednecks, so it's okay.
