"And we're back on M.O.O.T. 102,2 with the Moots playing this song especially for Amael to cheer her up..."
I love a lassie, a bonnie Hielan' lassie, If you saw her you would fancy her as well: I met her in September, popped the question in November, So I'll soon be havin' her a' to ma-sel'. Her faither has consented, so I'm feelin' quite contented, 'Cause I've been and sealed the bargain wi' a kiss. I sit and weary weary, when I think aboot ma deary, An' you'll always hear me singing this... Chorus I love a lassie, a bonnie bonnie lassie, She's as pure as a lily in the dell, She's sweet as the heather, the bonnie bloomin' heather, Mary, my Scots bluebell. I love a lassie, a bonnie Hielan' lassie, She can warble like like a blackbird in the dell. She's an angel ev'ry Sunday, but a jolly lass on Monday: She's as modest as her namesake the bluebell. She's nice, she's neat, she's tidy and I meet her ev'ry Friday: That's a special nicht, you bet, I never miss. I'm enchanted, I'm enraptured, since ma heart the darlin'captur'd, She's intoxicated me with bliss... Chorus I love a lassie, a bonnie Hielan' lassie, I could sit an' let her tease me for a week: For the way she keeps behavin' well, I never pay for shavin', 'Cause she rubs ma whiskers clean off with her cheek. And underneath ma bonnet, where the hair was, there's none on it, For the way she pats ma head has made me bald. I know she means no harm, for she'll keep me nice and warm, On the frosty nichts sae very cauld.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqMpRGWUNtM |

And waaaaaay too late...
Men. So, what's up today? Oooooh! I just looked up out the window and the sky is all bright red and purple!!! It's amazing! *settles down with a cup of tea and some mints* If you want some, go right ahead *waves vaguely in the direction of the kettle and cabinet*

*TB quantum teleports in*
[I'm sure you guys are rolling your eyes at my new favorite of instantaneous transportation. Be lucky that you missed me when I read Hyperion; else all the threads would be connected by Farcasters! ] There's a Hall of Fame? Am I in it? Quote:
I've finally finished Olympos, and now I've moved on to that list I mentioned a few weeks ago. First book on the list: A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson. So far it's an excellent book, and delves into the quirkiest nuances of the scientists it necessarily discusses, without diverging from the main point of the book. That Henry Cavendish guy was quite a character. In other news, and no thanks to Simmons yet again, I'm scampering around to find philosophical literature on Heinlein's pantheistic solipsism. Still to no avail. Such an interesting concept, though. You Lord o' Rings-ers would probably like it if you're familiar with it... The idea that works of pure genius (i.e. Lord of the Rings or The Illiad or whatever) create universes in and of themselves. Certainly remotely possible depending on the possibility that recent speculation regarding the activity of the human brain on the quantum scale holds true. Guess I'll try to find some information on that once I get my grip on quantum mechanics back in the way I used to have it. Also found Robert Browning's natural theology vs. revelation theology argument in "Caliban upon Setebos" rather interesting (again, owing thanks to Simmons for intorducing "Caliban upon Setebos" to me). Aside from that, it's a rather surprisingly accessible poem in spite of its poetic Shakespearean richness, even for the layperson such as me. Lucky for me, the parts of the poem I had happened to be reading and studying at length, were rather well understood by the time the words of Caliban in Olympos are spoken; they also happen to be the same as those I'd read in many cases, such as the part where the Moravecs find Caliban's scratch marks on the wall of the ice dome. As such... A bitter heart that bides its time and bites. 'Plays thus at being Prosper in a way, Taketh his mirths from make-believes: so He. His dam held that the Quiet made all things Which Setebos vexed only: 'holds not so. *slight thunderclap of air filling in the vacuum left by TB's quantum teleportation out of the room*

Sure, I guess you're in the hall of fame too. I have another couple of years before I get 1000 posts, probably. This seems to be the best topic series to get in on the 1000+ band wagon!
Funny that this idea is something I mentioned when I was too tired to drink, erm I mean think! |

Hehe, some of our best ideas come when we're tired. At least, mine do! And then I get myself even more tired by getting out of bed to write them up and think of the details. If one of those hit me, it's usually quite genius (as compared to things I think up when perfectly awake).

Sounds pretty snazzy. I seem to know a disproportionate number of substitute teachers these days.

Wow, another teacup cafe soon full.
I'm in love, and there's a long-lost feeling in me. Do you know how it feels to experience hope after two hopeless years? .... Yep, that's how. I won't allow fear, despair or darkness to take hold of me again.

Hehe, being in love is great. If it weren't for all those uncertainties it would be wonderful

'Will sprawl, now that the heat of day is best,
Flat on his belly, in the pit's much mire With elbows wide, fists clenched to prop his chin.
