You probably would have if I hadn't just double-checked that family tree last night when we were sorting out how many generations from Durin VI to Thorin II.

Sticking with those dwarves:

Which three dwarves in Thorin's company were descended from dwarves of Moria, but NOT from the royal line?

I do believe that was Ori, Nori and Dori. But not sure.

Sorry - not those three. Do try again though - if you like.

Feel neither - those three are correct. The footnote on the family tree tells us that - as well as telling us that Ori, Nori and Dori were related to Thorin - but not as near. Balin, Dwalin, Oin and Gloin are all shown on the family tree - along with Fili and Kili of course.

Your turn again Count Comfect.

(PS - what does YOUR name come from? It makes me think of 'confectious sugar'! )

OK, let's stay with dwarves.
What did Dain Ironfoot say about the plan to move into Moria after the defeat of Azog?

(PS - my name comes from playing Claudio in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. He is described as "a goodly count, Count Comfect" when Beatrice is really mad at him)

Well... you, brownjenkins and I have been batting this thread about, so I WAS going to let someone else in... but I think now I'll take a stab at it after all. It was something like:

"I have looked inside the doors of Moria. It waits for you still... Durin's Bane. Some great change (or power?) must come to the world before we dwarves can ever live in Moria again."

OK, after Sauron was caught in the wreck of Numenor, and his bodily form perished - what was he unable ever again to do?

Well... ACTUALLY, to assume a form that seemed fair to men!

Hmmm - funny, I never thought of Sauron that way!

But you go ahead and go, Tuor.

he developed severe Thalassophobia

Quote:
1: fear of the ocean: a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of the sea or the ocean , despite the understanding by the phobic individual and reassurance by others that there is no danger. 2: fear of the ocean: a strong fear of, dislike of, or aversion to the sea or the ocean.
unable to continue his annual fishing trips with 'the mouth' to the sea of nurnen... the lack of 'me time' has been suspected to have contributed to his increasing disagreeable disposition as the ages wore on

"he developed severe Thalassophobia"
That would tend to explain why I've never seen him fishing off Ocean City or any other New Jersey area.

So, Sauron was a log cabin Republican?

I don't really know, but it might be good to bump this up. Also I have at least a guess.

One was written with a brush, the other inscribed?

CC - Tuor never got back to this, so I'll assume he forgot about it. I looked it up and think you deserve it - because you're correct! And it was the 'Tengwar' which were written with a pen or brush and the 'Cirth' which were inscribed. VERY GOOD! And... your turn!
