Tessar, don't listen to that jerk!

You wouldn't be where you are today if you weren't any good. Just don't listen to them! They're probably just jealous anyway!

Oh they weren't talking about me. I have no idea what they say about me behind my back, whether it's good, bad, or if they even say anything at all... but they were majorly ripping on some of the other singers and it made me mad.

That is just horrible. Terrible behavior like that will insure that they don't get very far in the business. And it'll be their very own fault.

I'm sitting in an airport and I'm tired and should have been arriving at home an hour ago, but because of delays now I wont get home till 11 p.m.

Boo .

It's not too bad all things considered, but I reeeeally wanna sleep. I'm so exhausted right now I could just shut my eyes and drift off, but I need to stay awake so that I don't miss my flight in 40 minutes. Blergh.

I have this weird problem ever since I got back from the workshop where I feel guilty any time I do something that's not related to my career. We listened to talks on how the professionals are so motivated that almost everything they do is motivated towards, in some way or other, advancing their career.

So there are a million things I could be doing. I could be learning more Italian, I could be working on my diction, I could be learning more piano, I could be doing more yoga, I could be working on the speaking program more, I could be researching composers, I could be working on music theory, I could be working on sight singing...

I mean there are just a ton of things I could be doing, none of them actually involving singing!

But I have a feeling if I just leap in feet first and try to spend every spare moment working on my professional skills that I'll burn myself out very quickly. But on the other hand, maybe I should be doing that. I DO want to be one of the best, and if I have the motivation to head towards that maybe I should be expanding it to my greatest ability.

Huh, I wonder if I just answered my own question . I guess to be the best you do need to devote to it almost exclusively.

We'll see. It's all a little confusing, but maybe it's worth a shot.

Are you saying that you should burn yourself out very quickly?

That's what happens when you don't read back through what you wrote .

The compete thought was, "But on the other hand maybe I should be trying as hard as I can and I won't actually burn out."

Well, just accepted my student loans, and I'm about to officially be $13,000 in debt for college. I hate this feeling. I should just be grateful that it's not more, that I have the opportunity to go to college, and that I'm getting my degree in something that's relatively certain to land me a job where I'll be able to eventually pay off my loans.

I really, really hate this feeling though.

Just got back from my states vacation, not too happy to be back in NZ in the middle of winter, WITH A FREAKIN COLD.

It's part of student life to have some loans weighing down your back
If it makes you feel any better, I can tell you my debts are bigger than yours

I'm the worst hostess EVER.

Sorry Mari, for all the confusion and making you wait so long. I hope you'll forgive me.

I guess my vent is that I'm frustrated with myself for being such a bad hostess.

Which is good, because you really don't have to feel bad Besides, if you had been there, you'd have had to wait for 2 hours since we got stuck in traffic.

My mom just missed out on getting another job, which I've been really hoping and praying she'll find something because she really, really wants to get a job. She's ready to get back into the workforce.

And, on a very selfish note, because she has offered to help me pay for summer workshops if she gets a job... and since there's no way I'll ever manage to get hired as a singer if I don't find a way to attend said workshops.... Well. There is it .

I'm also trying to figure out if I can save up four thousand for next summer because there's a really great month-long program that I'd like to attend. Blargh. Money!!! >.< I've considered getting a third job but I don't think it's possible for me to do three jobs, plus pirates rehearsals, plus 16 hours. I know 16 is relatively light, especially compared to some of my friends who do 21 hours every semester... but I JUST got my GPA back on track and I wont let myself wreck it again.

I know some people can work full time and do school full time, and I wish I were one of them, but I can't. Not yet, anyways.

Boo for allergies! My throat's been feeling wonky since Saturday, and I have some tiny, clear blisters on the edge of my soft palate at the back of my throat which I'm pretty sure are allergy related.

My voice wears out after just a half hour or so. It's lucky that my technique has improved the way it has, because otherwise I don't think I'd be able to sing right now . But still, boo for dang allergies . My throat just feels weird!
