As to Val being a stickler for the rules, I don't suppose I would have posted my guess like I did if I didn't think I had a chance of getting it. I just didn't know whether I would get a "Quote's yours!" or a "What was the dude's name?" Probably I was expecting the latter, though, as my reaction showed. Anyway... A lengthy commentary for something really not worth it. Shows how "tard" (you have to say that with the right accent for it to make sense... try a hillbilly one!) I am...

BB: I still AM a stickly for the rules. Now and then, I cut someone some slack on something like a person's name or something - especially if a quote is moving slowly. It's been done for me as well. And - when a new person starts in on the game, we want them to play right.

Otherwise, the game could really get derailed.

And besides - if you knew but didn't say, who are you to complain?

Midge: I'm having a hard time with that last word - are all the spaces there? - "around" works, but doesn't fit.

No, the quote and its spaces are correct. You are really super close with your suggestion, though. It's quite a normal word, though we don't usually use it in the context in which it is used in this quote. It's not surprising if you think it over, though, because it was written quite some time ago AND in Europe, so the language would differ a bit, but not enough to be un-understandable by us Americans!

Just keep thinking.
