If you want to go spiritual, you can take the properties of elements and apply them to people in the same way other people use horoscopse. We have:
Earth - Can be attached to synthetics such as plastic. Soil and rock are best.
Fire - Also associated with the sun.
Water - And other liquids.
Air - Very rare and unstable.
Wood - Plants, growing things, etc.
Metal - Can be refined or straight out of the earth.

Each of these has different qualities.

Earth - Stable, not easily shaken.
Fire - Powerful, quick to anger.
Water - Quietly powerful. Resistant to cold.
Air - Light, cheerful, but with a strange power to change people.
Wood - Stiff, sometimes too stiff, but comfortable in one place.
Metal - Strong, viscious, wrathful.

Most people are combinations. I identify as Water/Earth. Logan is Fire/Metal.

But anyway, it's just another spiritual thing like horoscopes. I like it though. It gives you more options.
