He had his first birthday last month and just this week began really walking around. It's adorable watching him try to walk, only to end up on his backside after a few steps. I'm sure I'll miss his crawling days but I'm excited because now maybe I can start to get stuff done and he will just toddle after me, instead of crying for me to hold him all the time.
Here's a very LARGE picture of Mr. B and I at my brother's wedding (being hugged by the lucky groom, of course): Is there really no way to edit the size of an image using CSS or other modifiers in vbCode?

Thanks. Are you still slicing things up ninja-style?
NOTE: Just in case that's completely wrong, I want you to know that that's the impression I have of you, Sane. Sort of an assassin/samurai person. Like IRL.

I'm not as slicey-dice as I used to be; injuries and years of physical neglect from expecting youth to be a magical cure all has caught up to me. Thankfully it's nothing a few modern surgeries can't cure. I'll be back to my martial arts ways soon enough.

I just noticed that this Teacup is three friggen years old, just about! What the hell happened to the days where we could go through two or three in a week? ... How is entmoot still even up? Surely it doesn't pay for itself with ad traffic any more. If ever it did... Who keeps it running, Ben?

Ben still pays the bill. He says it's extremely cheap. No advertising income I'm aware of.
The low traffic seems common to message boards of all types. People have shifted to other forms of social media.

I think it depends on the audience. My husband frequents a gun/ammo/reloading board that seems quite... hoppin'. But that could be because they think it's a lower profile than on Facebook or Twitter. Can't get attacked by the other guys for liking guns if they don't go to your site.

Hector tried to make a group for Entmoot on FB, but that ain't exactly thriving either...
I have several students who love LotR, but it's mostly because of the film and they seem more interested in reading and sharing captioned pics about LotR than the books or films itself. Same for every other fandom I've come across by the way.

Yeah, I didn't get to experience the 'Moot before the movies. I do love it here, though. I dislike having discussions on Facebook.

*blows cobwebs of her secret chocolate stash* Phew, busy, busy, busy, these days. Barely have time to visit the 'moot. (Not that I'd have many threads to catch up nowadays... but hey.)
I'm loving this Indian summer, I think it's been years since I managed to get so much done outside in autumn. The pond has been getting a good clean-up which was desperately needed or I'd soon have a bog rather than a pond. Took me days too. (Weather prevented a clean-up last autumn, and then later the tiny toads in spring and summer.) We've put in some more autumn-flowering plants and dug up some stray saplings. (And before you send Treebeard after me, it's to be planted in an actual forest later!) |

Ah! We just had Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts. Our little city of 40,000 swelled 3½ times to 140,000. Weird, crowd, though: and we have black squirrels this year. Jet-black. I tried several times to get photographs but failed. My daughter got one over the weekend, but it’s hard to tell what the creature is, besides small and coal black.

My son and I went as a Hobbit mama and baby for Halloween. My costume wasn't great (I think I needed a genuine peasant-style shirt and a more rustic apron), but Mr. B was ADORABLE! We made him a bright yellow vest out of fleece and a brown cape with a hood that was attached to the vest with little leaves at the shoulders.

Glad you had fun, at least. This weekend was crap for me. Buried a damn good man and dear friend, whom I can say with certainty I wont find another like. I didn't drink at the memorial and played the role of drunk catcher, but now that I'm home I think I'll booze myself stupid.

I'm sorry for your loss, Sane. We can break open the Teacup's secret stash of "tea" for you here too.

Afternoon, all. Fireworks are legal here if there is no burn ban on, as there was this year. Tlsp, I am sorry for your loss.
Weather here is great. Am trying to get Attalus to agree to a picnic this weekend at a local state park. I am holding out BLTs with avacado as an inducement. He is resistant, insisting on pie. Drat the man. Susie

Good. You can have my share, as I'm not partial to that type of ... tea. I'll give you a bit of
Earn's chocolate too! *avoids gecko*

Do people still call grass "tea"? I thought that was old slang, like "gat" and "moll"
