Hmmm, since I said dusk, that would make it my turn, no?
What was the only issue on which Thorongil and Denethor disagreed before Thorongil departed towards Mordor?

Who was the only female dwarf mentioned by name in these histories of Middle-earth?

How many generations are between Thorin II Oakenshield and Durin VI (including the two of them)?

Indeed. Your go!
EDIT: Sorry as I am to say this, I appear to have counted wrong. The correct answer was actually 11, and so Valandil actually had it. As Radagast has not posted, I could suggest Valandil do so, but whichever way works for you two, as the mistake is mine. Sorry for the trouble. I really should know how to count.

No problem... I'll bet it was the slide that got you, not the counting! Ooo... VERY tempted to make a very bad pun about your name and 'counting' - but I'll spare us all.
OK - sticking with the dwarves: of the thirteen dwarves who went on the quest for Erebor, only one is known to have been a father at the time. Which one was he? |

Let's see - poor Thorin was childless, Fili and Kili were young... gah. *wills not to look up* Something in me wants to say Dwalin.
Btw- I just started counting from Thrain II instead of Thorin II. Doh. And thank you for your humourous forbearance.

You're welcome - and like I said, no problem.
(my first two tries on the 'Hobbit Trivia' thread I asked TOTALLY bad questions... I was trying to go from memory - and I completely mis-remembered the first - and the second actually was told in FOTR instead of 'The Hobbit' - boy was I embarrassed!) Not Dwalin though. gloin was gimli's father, who should have been alive at the time... though i am not sure if this would be considered 'known at the time' or not
