In the States, you can legally get your License at 16. I didn't get mine til 19

I was the same way with interstates. I still hate driving anywhere near a big rig

Here, legally 18, although there are systems that will allow for sooner. Now I'm 26, and still only have passed the theorethical driving exam.

No, but he did put his seatbelt on and as tight as it would go

My fiance holds on to the bar above the passenger side door, but he really hasn't done it since he was in the car with my dad driving. hehehe. Like father like daughter

Driving, Bah.
After the first few million miles, it tends to lose its charm.

And ITA, Rian.

I can't imagine not driving! It would probably be much better for my welfare (and the welfare of many others) if fewer people did it, though.

I got my permit at 15 and my dad MADE me learn to drive. I was always perfectly happy saying, "No, Daddy, YOU drive!" I remember freaking out because he told me to go 40 miles an hour on a completely empty road and I didn't even want to think about going that fast! Now I get annoyed if someone goes 65 in a 70 on an interstate!

But the thing is that I (and most everyone I know, I think) live about twenty-five or thirty minutes away from my school and where I work... And that estimate is a driving estimate. It would be two hours to walk and no buses come out of the city to the rural-ish town where my house is.

Mari, Earn, I bet you guys have an overabundance of money because you don't spend half your paycheck on gas!

It's good to know how to drive.

It's good to know how to coordinate with people and carpool, too.

Midge, it's 2 hours by train from home to school and another 2 hours back

I think I'll leave the whole driving thing just what it is for the moment. I just learned today that apparently my BA doesn't count for much and I thus have a studydebt which I need to pay back ASAP.
Now I need to find out the details *is quite 'annoyed' by everything that happened today and basically is in a murderous mood*

Hi dear Sis! You might want to stay away from me. I feel like I will either hit something (or someone) or start crying. Either way not very pretty.
If you're not scared, hug? *puppy eyes*

*snuggles with Sis*
Well, I'm not quite decided between hitting and crying yet. But I think I'm starting to lean towards the latter. Maybe I'd better go down and cook pudding. That always helps.
You can have some too when I get back ^_^

Today, at about 9:00 am, a handful of driving students including me, went to train driving in the slippery track. Don't know a better name for it.

Anyways, the car turned 180 degrees 3 times. Not in a row, but altogether. First when I hit the brakes in the ordinary way. Speed about 40 km/h. Then I learned it. After that, I had to drive 20 km/h into a slippery curve, then hit the switch: if I don't turn the wheel quickly enough, the car would turn 180 deg., which it did twice. On third time I learnt to turn the wheel quickly. And I had a passenger, in addition to my teacher! Another student, a girl. She was kinda cute. But of course, I didn't let that bother my driving.

Also, when we drove to the track, I had to drive. I had a passenger then as well, some other girl.

"And we're back at M.O.O.T. with the Moots playing this tune especially for Mari..."

Hey, Mari
Oh, Mari

Mari, if you will
Please send a little girl for me to thrill
A girl who wants my kisses and my arms
A girl with all the charms of you

Mari, make her fair
A lovely girl with sunlight in her hair
And take the brightest stars up in the skies
And place them in her eyes for me

Mari, goddess of love that you are
Surely the things I ask
Can't be too great a task

Mari, if you do
I promise that I always will be true
I'll give her all the love I have to give
As long as we both shall live

Mari, goddess of love that you are
Surely the things I ask
Can't be too great a task

Mari if you do
I promise that I always will be true
I'll give her all the love I have to give
As long as we both shall live

Hey, Mari
Oh, Mari
Make my wish come true
