really old

it came from numenor... and was the object of the royal line of the lords of andunie... so, by the end of the fourth age i believe it would have been in existance for close to two ages, or a bit less than 6000 years?

You mean by the end of the Third age?
If yes - you exaggerated a bit. 6000 is too old for this sceptre. Good try though.

yeah, end of third age... i thought the sceptre originated with lords of andunie of numenor... which split off around 550 SA

putting the sceptre at about 5900 by the end of the TA (to be more exact )

but, i must have confused my royal artifacts (where's Val )

I thought you sounded about right, but I'm not certain... I remember it's in a footnote...

Not 5900 years, no. It is the sceptre of Andunie, but it's much younger than 5900. I guess I shouldn't have said 'a bit exaggerated'.

Yeah Valandil, it's in a footnote.

Yeah Valandil, it's in a footnote.
OK Raddy, you've had us stumped on this one for way too long, so I just looked it up. The note says it was 'already more than five thousand years old when Elrond surrendered it to Aragorn' so it doesn't give an exact age...

Radagast, do you want to ask another - since you got us all on that one? Or brownjenkins, do you want to - since you were in the ballpark? I'll give either of you at least 24 hours to get up the next question - and I'll post one if you haven't yet.

You're relatively close on both. I'll just wait a bit to see if someone gets closer without looking it up (be honest now folks!) - and if nobody gets right on it, you've got it!

See PM I sent you - and post here if you want to try again. Meanwhile, your PM box just filled up.

I knew because I tried to reply back to you again.

I'm gonna give it to you on those years! The 2460 is exact for when it ended... it officially began in 2063!

Your turn!
