Community Colleges: Really for people who can't go to school full time.
Colleges: For kids who want to get out of the house.
Universities: For people who want to learn.

Smoking
I am trying to quit smoking but I don't know why. It's not as if I smoke that much. And I know it's killing me and that's why I smoke.
And Washington State is more uptight than California. In Washington there is no smoking indoors anywhere that is public, and it's illigal to smoke within 25ft of a door to any public building.
Sheesh!

Drinking
Your parents are allowed to give you alcohol in their home if you are under 21. But I am a responcible adult and I would like to have the option of getting drunk, but I can't because I am only 19.
I can't even go into bars and sing kareoke not even drinking.

Absolutely. Which is what makes the Good State of Pennsylvania so absolutely silly.

Now, that's an unfair generalization. Thomas Aquinas College is all about learning. There are a lot of colleges with Great Book Programs that emphasize learning, but not in the modern university manner, preferring a smaller student-body and a rather different approach over-all.

Do they not have any public areas, like hookah lounges or tobacco shops? That's dictatorial.

Okay, so Colleges are places of learning that try to be untraditional.

Gwaimir, I am with you there. You can have sex with anyone you please provided they are of age, but you cannot smoke or drink until you are 19. That is just retarded.

Same here! They just took the smoking room out at work. Now you have to smoke outside. They have a law here that say no smoking in public buildings. Its stupid!

Age limits suck!

I drink like a fish and smoke like a chimney (When Lady M isn't around) and most of the adults and my friendly Pub owners just loook the other way and hum. Gotta love friends.

The UK's trying to get smoking banned in public places. But you can still smoke at home. But why the hell would anyone want to start in the first place?

well, it's probably just so those who do smoke won't affect the health of those who don't, and those who don't can do nothing about it.

P.S. Some of us couldn't afford Universities and went to colleges on long commutes and long hours to better ourselves. It is folly to suggest otherwise.

Moving would be taking the cheap way out. You stay and you try to change your homeland to the better.

Stay and change is fine. Bit**** and spewing anti-American/USA tripe is not the way to help change things. Work with and within or MOVE to where you think it is a better country. Don't take the benefits we have to offer AND say ill about us at the same time while doing nothing. I'm fed up with two faced people.
