CS, superb post! Now we see Lilly's point of view and how she regards her pleasant associates. *evil grin*

Crazy Squirrel and Serenoli, fantastic stuff! Excellent, heartbreaking stuff, CS. I got so mad about poor Lilly's plight - (It's just not FAIR!!) that I've sent Buz and Viv to the rescue. See how it pays off to have an animal spy? Bless Lomi's little feathery heart! Lil can thank her later! Hopefully, at the scene of the crimes in progress, Tolvadok will be a helpful third Nazgul to fight against the evil two -Udu and Khamul. Those servants there are toast if they try and impede Viv and Buz from getting down to that cellar; literally toast. Buz will set them on fire or something, with his rage, and Viv will tear off their poor mortal faces. Tatyana we'll leave alone, though; she belongs to our evil brother Udu and she's a cute female, so she's exempt - sort of. Viv might give her a hell of a Nazgirl bitch-slap, though. We shall see.
I'm surprised I was able to post at all today. It was a total spur of the moment post. I've been very, very depressed lately in RL, but sometimes I guess it's good to break oneself out of depression through writing. Rian, nice new elven dagger-angst! Thanks for keeping it up here in "Of Wraiths," love the splash of good-guy elves in with the drama of the dark side. ![]()

yeah, contrast is always interesting, isn't it?
I just added quite a bit to the post (#855) - I had to stop earlier to do some kid-taxi-ing. I wanted to add some reflections on evil taking advantage of those weaker than itself - esp. interesting in light of what's happening to Lilly ... ![]() I'm glad to hear Viv and Buz are coming to the rescue - I'll pop over and read your post now ...

Thanks, Rian.
![]() TD, just read your post, and now wouldn't you know it, I have to log off. Got a doctor's appointment to make, but later on, when I get back, I'll get going on Viv and Buz coming crashing in on the scene. Looks like us Nazzies are going to have us another brawl. This oughtta be interesting! I loved what you had Khamul saying, like that, reminding Tol of the Ring-hold and what it means to be a Nazgul; good stuff. I liked that. An appropriate thing, indeed, for Khamul to be reminding us of.

Just posted Khamûl's response to Tol and Viv and Buz approaching the Triangular House.
EDIT: Thanks Lotesse.

Maggie - Very interesting backstory - I love your glimpses into her past - very complicated and mixed ...
TD - whew, some surprising things from Khamul!! Very interesting! I'd like to hear more of what he thinks. Lotesse - I like how you worked the weather reactions into your character's actions - good pictures and "feeling" the scene. CS, Udu, Serenoli - good descriptive writing, although the whole torture storyline isn't as interesting to me as some of the other things you've done... but to each his own!

I am sure that Lilly can find a way to grow her hair back in short order. Luthien was able to make hers grow long... if not, she can always say that she was infested with nits and had to have it cut off.

Nice post Udu. So RPG-Udu has decided to go against the ML's orders.

Oh, what a story! Loved your post, TD, Khamul's musings on the Rings...
Serenoli, CS, Udu, Lotesse, great stuff. Only I am not sure Tol would have retreated like that... Eh, Serenoli? It seems you are ignoring the Captain's orders ![]() Rian, LMM, great posts. Nice contrast, indeed. |

Never underestimate the power of a bird! Hurrah for old blackwing. Now mayhaps what is left of the patrol can start fighting in earnest.

Say... all that drainage and rain would run off into the river wouldn't it? I should think that the heavier the rain, the more likely it is to cause greater problems to sailers than to horsemen. Sudden flooding to the river could make navigation quite perilous, don't you think? Certainly makes it awful hard to travel upstream with any kind of speed whatsoever. Not to mention how they'd probably have to take in the sails - and sitting on the open deck in a rainy autumn would just make them miserable. Ha - wouldn't it be ironic if the ML's rain storm actually saved Tharbad from the pirates? DOUBLY ironic if - once the populace hears about it - they sing praises to the Valar for their great deliverance! ![]() ![]() ![]()

PS's all around:
Gordis - I hope to have some small things up soon anyway - big work day tomorrow though (I dread it - I think I stand to be punished for the sins of others - and must be silent as a lamb). Anyway - I'm working up plenty of mischief of my own. Just need the time to write up the thoughts that go flying through my pate. Shah - I sort of hope that Ray and Marty survive this little sortie. Actually - I expect Ray to get wraithed (Ray the Wraith!). Oh - and PU-LEEZE people, let's don't pretend like he'll be happy that way. Viv may get her kicks for a few decades or centuries, but he'll become less than a slave - and eventually discarded into perpetual wraithdom. As for Marty - I thought it would be more interesting if he lost his other eye. Then he sort of becomes a hermit - the Wise Blind Man of Arnor or something. CS - so THAT'S what Lilly looks like. I like the flashing avatar... at least I'm not ALWAYS looking at some Crazy Squirrel or something! ![]() ![]() ![]() Udu - WHICH lovely cheeks of Lilly was Udu the NG pinching?

It'll certainly help the reinforcments reach Shah's patrol. The increased current should balance the effects of the wind quite nicely for those going downstream.
Nice post Udu. So RPG-Udu has decided to go against the ML's orders.
Exactly what I was thinking! At the end of the day, it should not be Tolvadok, Buzukhumarz and Viniglaen who get reprimanded and "in trouble" for putting an end to the torture, because clearly Udu is out of line with the disfiguring stuff - even the hair-cutting can technically be safely called disfigurement. Never mind the toes and fingers and whatnot. It serves no good purpose in the end to maul and mangle one of the Nine, one who's chief weapon against the FOGAL is her captivating beauty and charming way. It's one thing to break a spirit to a certain degree, to "make a person see reason," or whatever, but there's such a thing as taking it to an emotional length, which is what it looks like Udu is doing, even more so than Khamul. It's like Udu is pissed off that she can play games and flaunt certain physical/sexual powers that he cannot nor ever will be able to, so he is madly, insanely jealous and intimidated! Freakin' men. ![]() ![]()

Lotesse - funny that you have the Nazgul fighting now - my post (which I won't have time to finish until tomorrow) has Alagos and Tyaron at each other's throats now ...
Fighting is in the air! (except on the discussion thread, I hope! ![]()
