Actually, there's more than 4. 6 or 7 so far, I think.
Have you read any of his other books? I read At the Villa of Reduced Circumstances. It was very weird, but I hadn't read the ones that come before it so that's probably why.

Yesterday finished Memoirs of Hadrian. Very, very good book. It is written in the form of a very long letter from Hadrian to Marcus Aurelius, the successor of Hadrian's own successor Antoninus. It is very introspective and thoughtful; it tells what Hadrian does, true, but always in the context of how this fits into or falls away from who he is, what his ideals are, what is his goal for the Roman Empire. It is a very philosophical work. I highly recommend it to all comers.

Well, actually, a major theme is the love he has for Antinous, the Greek youth, which no treatment of Hadrian could be complete without. I didn't mind it, but some people might, so be forewarned.

I also started reading Silence, by Endo Shusaku. This is simply a work of genius. The translation by Johnston is a bit lacking, though.

I've always wanted to read that wild book (sorry for the terrible pun!).

I just finished reading North and South (by Elizabeth Gaskell) again.

And I am partway through All God's Children and Blue Suede Shoes by Ken Myers (on Christianity and popular culture). It's quite an amazing book.

I have regular Sayers binges myself but right now I'm getting ready to start my Rowling binge in anticipation of the Deathly Hallows.

Finished Silence; an absolutely magnificent book about the questioning and loss of faith.

Finished Silence; an absolutely magnificent book about the questioning and loss of faith, and the silence of God in tribulation. Highly recommend it to anyone; it's appeal would be by no means limited to the religiously inclined.

Now reading Shadow of the Torturer, by Gene Wolfe; looks promising.

I'm almost done with Generatn Me by Jean Twenge. I also highly reccommend this to anyone in Genertaion Me ("Generation Y"). It's quite revealing.

Picked up How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
I'm also currently reading a selection of poems by Thomas Dylan. Anyone here a fan? His stuff is good, but really hard to get into!

I've given Sayers a few tries but am sad to say that she hasn't really grabbed hold of me - what books do you recommend of hers?

Girl With a Pearl Earring. I'm a little past the middle of the book (it has no chapter divisions), and like it very much, so far.

Currently reading Claw of the Conciliator, second book of the four book cycle to which the aforementioned Shadow of the Torturer belongs.

I need a good fantasy or scifi book I haven't read yet.

Lately I've been on a real world (as in ours ) book run and I'm sick of it. I live real world everyday and need a good escape.

Well, I've only been reading the Lord Peter Wimsey books so far. I've read Whose Body, Murder Must Advertise, Five Red Herrings and Gaudy Night, and of those I most enjoyed Murder Must Advertise. I think I still need to read some more to get a handle on her style, though of course I already love Lord Peter . But Mercutio is the expert on Sayers

I'm a romantic so I like the stories with Lord Peter and Harriet Vane:
Strong Poison
Have His Carcass
Gaudy Night
Busman's Honeymoon

I read these almost every year.

I've also discovered 2 books by Jill Paton Walsh who completed 2 of Sayers unfinished novels wtih the same lead characters: Thrones, Dominations and A Presumption of Death.
