Hagelslag... yum yum
I prefer gestampte muisjes though

Hagelslag tastes great on peanutbutter by the way.

I wouldn't call that an outpost - it is an estate, and as such is withdrawn slightly from the mundane hubbub of the town, in a most dignified manner.

And in 'Ringdrotten' the translator uses 'Skrepping' for Baggins - a word that is much more close to an actual bag than either of the other Norwegian translations.

Not called it an outpost, only outpostish. But I give up! Pointless fretting

What do you think of Skrepping, then?

But it wasn't a "house", Sis... it was a hole in the ground... a (albeit very large) "pocket in the ground..."

I always assumed Bag End to mean the end of a bag... I'm not sure how that makes any coherent sense other than "Bag End" = "end of bag"...

Mari's here! *snuggle* It's so cold and rainy and miserable today, and now I have this freak headache too. But I'm home for the night though, curled up in bed with kitty and some hot chocolate. And LotR. I don't have the energy to read though, I actually have some homework to get out the way before I do anything else.

Sis... was that... was that Polly Pocket??

Katya... homework is never more important than hot chocolate, kitties, and LotR

Yeah, good point. Homework can wait, I suppose.

I'm looking at the Dutch food thing now, Mari. It makes me hungry.

Remon-juusu? Does that work on headaches? I don't think we have any. :[ But Chi-chan (one of my tutees) gave me some "shigekikkusu", which were quite sour. Do you know it?

Rice milk, yes please and thank you.

I want to make so many yummy things now but we don't have very many ingredients. I want some creamy soup. Mushroom, or cheesy broccoli, or maybe whitefish chowder.

I had a Polly Pocket ...pocket. It was one of my favorite toys. I had a friend named Polly too. Looking back, I think that's a very unusual name.

Yes... that is... it makes me think you grew up on the prairie during the days of the Oregon Trail...

Hmmm... anyone remember Oregon Trail the computer game?

With any luck, you'll be a LOT older. It's not all bad, either. Yes, I'd love some hot chocolate.

Didn't used to be. Nickname for numerous Marys.

I just saw Oregon Trail in Target a couple weeks ago. We played that all the time when we got the new computers. Before it was all Spellevator, but when we got the Apples (with mice and everything!) we played Oregon Trail, Odell Down Under, Bright Star Spelling, etc. There's a lot of Oregon Trail nostalgia groups on Facebook. I'm not in any though, only group I'm in is the one I started myself about Cloud from Final Fantasy VII.

I never heard of Polly as a nickname for Mary! I think her name was Polliana or something like that.

Haha... nice Katya! I miss Oregon Trail... simpler days....

I was obsessed with a game called King's Quest too... I told my fiance (back when he was just my boyfriend) about it and he bought me the entire set of the games so we could play them together...

I have one in the next room. Actually followed a large part of the route last year. Good teaching tool, even if the characters are a little limited, conversationally.
