Yay! So much better today physically and mentally...

I ended up not going to the doctor after all because I feel thisclose to being perfectly normal.

Also when I went in for my voice lesson I was extremely nervous because I was afraid that my voice was going to be worse than ever considering how sleepy I'd been the day before...

But WOW! My voice was amazing this morning. I haven't felt that 'grounded' while I sing for... at least three weeks. I was finally able to produce a full-throated sound (I know I have it right because, while there's no tension in my throat, my whole throat vibrates powerfully when I start to ascend into middle-voice... hasn't done that for a while now).

I was really upset with how I sang in seminar, but that was because my accompanist rushed me through everything and I didn't realize how fast we were going and why it was making me trip up everywhere till after it was all over. So I think I sounded 'good', but it wasn't musical, and that made me really upset.

But seriously, other than that? Today was AMAZING. O.o

first, a change might seem like a bad thing.. but change is actually often good. when i get used to this, i know i'll be happier: because we always knew we can't go on like we have done for a year now, because we always knew we can't go further.. because there is more for us out there. you just found yours before i did.

don't die now, you have to finish the experiments first right?
I'm happy you were able to reap the reward of your hard work

Oooooh, YES! They finished renovating the Dinosaur Hall in the Natural History Museum! Oh, yeah! They even changed one of the iguanodons to the currently most likely and supported position, but kept the other skeletons intact. And oh dear god, they've got a bigger collection, I spotted a triceratops on the TV! I don't care whether it might just be a cast of the real deal, it looks absolutely wicked! Oooh, I'm SO going to ogle them!

Darnit that my weekend's already planned full for once, the official opening this weekend has free access... ah, never mind, I can wait a bit, there'll be less crowd that way too.

Oh yes, baby! Dinosaurs! Wooohooo!

We bought a little pickup truck this week - always wanted one It will be mostly for our oldest son to use so I don't have to always drive him to and from practice, but I get it, too

REALLY HAPPY STUPID FAN MOMENT.

The new Star Trek movie has casting off the hotness meter. If stupid burbling about eye-candy bothers you, stop reading now.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/

Our old buddy Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, and Zachary Quinto, for starters. Yum. Young Pavel is way too young for me to even look at (and would have been, like eight, if the story was consistant. ) but he's cuter than a bug's ear for you younger folk. And Leonard, my love. *pats heart and sighs*

I just can't wait.
*warns mods* This belongs in the Happy Thread, because it makes me so happy. I'll take further discussion (and I will have some, lol) over to the entertainment forum. *kiss*

Sis - have you seen Karl Urban in "Out of the Blue"? It's an NZ movie, so I'm not sure if it made it stateside, but if you can, you should track it down. It's definitely his best piece of work (that I've seen) to date.

So you robbed all the little kids in your neighborhood for mere candy? Just what I expect from you.

Btw, any of those weird gummy chocolaty candies that are half orange and half brown? Peanut butter in the middle?

After two frillin' months of wrangling with the beauracracy of the CA DMV, and having their offices CLOSE ON ME due to BLOODY FIRE SMOKE (which you could smell, but was not worse than that), I finally have my California Driver's License, and my car insured. Oh, boy is that a load off my chest!

My day just got better: A possible cure found for the deadly fungus infection that has been decimating frog species

It sounds almost too good to be true. BoP, I love your country.

Okay, so there are still some kinks in need of ironing out and much more research needs to be done for the effects but oh glorious day!

the skin (the disease is called chytridiomycosis): it only grows in keratinised cells.

and yes, that's great news! hopefully it becomes more than a possible cure soon!

I'm so happy!!!

I had my voice lesson, and I vocalized an A4# (a few notes below the Tenor C). I've done that before, but today was different... I couldn't quite figure out how to get over that note, but I felt like I really had more range above it... I don't know if that's the normal sensation, since I've never hit an A4# before and felt like I could've kept going... usually I can feel that my voice is on the edge of cracking if I can even get up that high.

What I did differently was I made -very- sure not to let my stomach pop in when I went for the high notes... I have this really terrible habit of forcefully popping my stomach 'in' when I start to feel like the notes are too high, instead of keeping it expanded and supported. I used to think popping it in was giving me more support.

I don't know... I feel like when I get more comfortable with the new way of supporting, I'll be able to go higher. Odd as it sounds, I felt like I could have gone up maybe another third or fourth if I'd really been able to get under my support more. It certainly didn't feel like the 'top' of my range.

But then again I don't know. Maybe that's just what it feels like when you're actually singing correctly at the top of your range .

My teacher, and a few other people, still think I'm a lyric baritone because of the placement of my vocal breaks. But they think I may have a tenor extension into Super Headvoice (although they don't call it that) if I can learn how to use it. So I could potentially have a usable 'operatic' C5 when I'm older, or even an E/F5 if I choose to really work on that. I'm not gonna push too hard for it, though. I don't really need it, and I know way too many guys who can sing those notes but sound like crap on everything else... I'd rather be musical than have an insane range .
