I just found out that my FAVORITE director from last year, who I requested to get to do at least one scene with this year, is going to be my director for TWO scenes and might be assistant-directing my other scene.

Such awesomeness. I am unworthy of it.

Today, I went to Wal-Mart and I was driving my husband's car, which doesn't have automatic locks and I accidentally locked my purse, my cell phone AND the keys inside the car. So I flagged down some old man who was walking so slowly across the parking lot that stopping to let me call my husband.

So he tells me he'll call the insurance and they'd probably send someone out. So I'm waiting. It's hot outside, and I don't have any way of contacting anyone to see how long it'll be, or what they'll be driving, and it's kind of creepy and I started to cry. I thought about how awful it would be if the lock people got lost or couldn't find me, and that maybe I'd be there for hours while my husband was at home playing videogames with his friends. But then, after about 10 minutes, I see my car pulling towards me with my husband driving it to wait for the lock people with me. And the feelings I felt right then are why this story is in the happy thread, and not the sad thread.

I completed the Johto pokedex! Yay!! I feel happy, but at the same time, nothing really special happens when you do. The fun of it is in the journey. So I'm kind of like "Alright, well that's over. Cool."

If you don't know, here is what it means:

In the original Pokemon games, "cathing 'em all" meant getting 150 or 151 pokemon. Getting them means you have owned them at one point. If they evolve you still had them and now you have the evolved form too. So you really only have to "catch" maybe a third of them. You also have to trade from other games because no one game has all the pokemon you can get in it. If you have red, you have to trade with blue.

Anyway, the "national" pokedex (the thing that keeps track of them) in SoulSilver has almost 500 pokemon. I have not completed that one nor do I plan to in the near future.

The "Johto" pokedex, which I have just completed, has 254, not counting Mew and Celebi (which you can only get at special events).

So basically, 150 is all of them in the original game, almost 500 in the national, and I have just over 254, a complete Johto dex (plus a few extras).

It took almost exactly 160 hours of play time (not counting the time spent messing around on the pokewalker peripheral).

Just finished a nice night swim - one of the few nice things about Phoenix is the wonderful warm-water swimming at night in the summer .... ahhhhhh .... pool was at 91 degrees F / 33 degrees C - just right!

Yea, me too- Taiwan is hot in the summer- not Phoenix-hot, but it's muggy as well- not Toronto-muggy, but... hmm, maybe I should quit complaining.

Anyway, nothing like a night swim, when the water feels like velvet.

And just as I wrote that on a blistering hot afternoon, in about two minutes it clouded over, huge lightning flashes, a tremendous clap of thunder and the heavens opened with a tropical downpour- the temperature dropped about 10 degrees in a couple of minutes- nice!
