Did she ever have flesh. All the movies I've seen her in she'd had the prisoner camp escapee skin-n'-bones look.

Maybe it's because she's so lanky and tall, and she's still growing up into womanhood - can you believe how young she still is? I think she isn't even nineteen yet, I mean she's still so young. Plus, she seems like she has a high natural metabolism, and that manager-mother of hers probably is on her case to keep her skinny for her career, you know? Hollywood demands skin and bones, unfortunately. Anyway, she's not THAT skinny, you guys! It's the way she's built. She's not like Ally McBeal or Kate Moss or something; Keira's got a beautiful body. Mmmmmmm, Keira.... *drifts off into reverie*

Good Night & Good Luck was great! Brilliant acting and script, and a pretty relevant theme (media's role in society). The atmosphere, helped on by the black/white, was pretty authentic. Clooney's really got a grip on the whole directing buisness.

Mmmmm, Keira... *drool*

Silk is put to screen! Yay! And apparently what I heard about Keira's role wasn't true - if she plays Helene Joncour, that's ok with me. (Alright, I'll shut up now - 'tis very likely that nobody knows what I'm talking about, since Baricco's thread died a quiet death at the bottom of the Literature forum. Anyway, Silk a great book. Looking forvard to the movie. )

A New World

ROTFL.

First movie I've seriously considered walking out of.

Boring, boring.
Boring.

I would have fallen asleep, if it weren't for the insanely dynamic sound system (insanely insane), and the dude kicking my seat.

Pop quizz. How does one make a boring movie even more boring? Compile your end credits without music.

Still a Bale fan though.

Just got done watching Wedding Crashers. Not sure if this has been talked about there was alot of post here and sometimes i get lazy. Funny, funny stuff. Vince Vaughn is the man! That guy hasn't made a movie I didn't like. The way he delievers a line is awesome. I could quote some of his best but I"ll save you the trouble of having to read them. Owen Wilson, although funny sometimes, annoys me for some reason. Maybe its the dumb look he has on his face at all times. All in all a good movie worth the time and the annoyance of Owen just for Vince. Man that guy kills me.

Syriana

*snore*

I don't think I noticed any redeeming qualities. That old multiple-plots-as-a-part-of-one-whole thing just didn't hit home IMO.

George Clooney is fat in this too.

Brokeback Mountain.

It was alright, but I'm not really into romantic movies.. I'm glad, in a way, that it has been seen by so many, though.

I liked the movie a lot. The music was good, the singers did great and the story was excellent.

My wife & I watched the new Pride and Prejudice movie last night - we really liked it. My wife has seen so many versions the last few years (and we just saw another last weekend - see below) - I'm thinking about getting the book (EDIT: for me even, not her!).

Last weekend we watched a version of Pride and Prejudice made just a few years ago (2003?) and set in modern-day Utah. Has anyone seen that? I thought it was very good. In some ways, it made the story easier to follow for us Americans - with the updated cultural references (Las Vegas marriages, etc). If this latest version stuck closer to the book, the deviations in the other were mostly streamlining. Mormonism is not really made an issue in the movie - but the characters are all most likely Mormons (my wife thought there were some good reasons for setting the story there - that's one sub-culture in America where marriage would still have the same importance that it did in late 18th / early 19th century England). I know we used to have some Mormon mooters... if any are still here, did you see it? Thoughts?

Last weekend we also watched The Librarian - Quest for the Spear - hilarious and lots of fun. Part "Indiana Jones", part "Revenge of the Nerds" (but not much that could be considered objectionable for kids to watch - I think - I never saw RotN, but the Librarian is a Nerd who makes it big as a hero). It's good for the whole family. Bob Newhart gets the first fight scene of his career!

I was on a long bus trip...

50 First Dates - cute
Independence Day - decent, I liked it more than I expected
Mean Girls - some parts were pretty funny, but I didn't think it was that good
Aladdin -

I didn't watch a Star Wars, the Rundown, or Pearl Harbor, but they were on at different points.

I saw part of that. It was pretty good.
Last night I watched "The Fortune Cookie" (very funny). Today I watched Spider-Man 2 and The Return of the Jedi. Both of which I've seen before, of course.

Miracle

I like ice-hockey. However I'm sure I would have liked this movie just as much even if I didn't like the sport. It depicted one of the most emotional upsets in ice-hockey history very well.
