Menelvagor's - The Watchers in Cirith Ungol? The Watcher in the Water at Moria? the Balrog(though he wasn't really green)? Old Man Willow? the Barrow-Wights? Bert, Tom and William? Them beg spiders in Mirkwood? Shelob? them nasty winged things the Nazgul rode on? the Nazgul themselves? orcs? The ring of stones before Orthanc? The Tower of Barad-dur? the Witch-King?

I think that is enough guesses to merit a clue.
