The trouble with halos is that sometimes they're far too big for you, and fall down on your shoulders.

I just slept for 14 hours. O_o I went to bed at nine because I was tired, then woke up at 7:30 with my alarm and hit snooze because I figured today is a day I can afford to sleep in a little..... aaaaaand I just woke up now at 11. The heck?! I've been getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night, so I have no idea what just caused this to happen. I did wake up for a few minutes around 4 a.m., but then I went almost right back to sleep.

Thanks Noble. But there was no wire, so it could not have been snipped. I use portable cardboard, stapled to straps. Works much better.
Tess, sometimes you just have those days, but if you have it more often than just this once now, you might want to get it checked out.

Hmmm... watching Gladiator gave me an idea. I wonder if I could convince the costume lady to let me do a Russel Crow thing (medium-short hair, "gladiator" beard)
Or a 'Boars' thing from King Arthur (cropped hair and a full beard): Orrrrrrrrr something like this: We'll see what she says. Probably 'no', but I'll ask her when I see her on Monday. I'm hoping that if I can present her with a couple of options she'll let me go with one of them instead of just growing my hair out with no cutting at all. Even if she says no to all of them, I'm at -least- getting it trimmed a little. At least to blend the sideburns into the beard. |

A friend's sister once said that when a boy finally has had enough of experimenting with growing beards, he's taken one big step further into adulthood

Then I must have been born an adult, because I can't recall ever -wanting- a beard. I think they look great on some people, but I've never envisioned myself with one. |

Me, neither. Which is lucky, cause my facial hair is all patchy and what not; I suspect I inherited an incapacity for growing a full beard from my mother's side of the family. I only have enough to be a bother to shave.

You've been growing it for a number of days now, haven't you? Isn't it time that you gave us a first little peak at how far you've gone... I mean come? As an incentive, I'll give you a pic of me when I was young and naïve and playing with my beard

I am not actually growing it because I want one, it's for the opera. Hence why I have to get permission from the costume lady before I can make any changes to the beard or the hair. ... hum. You know, I have to say, this look isn't as bad as I thought it was. Weird how taking a picture makes it look better than I thought it did. I think the problem is that I've been putting my bangs to the side, like I did when my hair was short. Letting them lay flat (which happened because I just got out of the shower) actually makes the hair look pretty okay and it makes the beard look better. Fine, you may commence to laugh at me. I don't hate the hair as much now. |

Hey, it looks really good if you ask me! You're gaining on Russel "the Gladiator" Crowe
