Interestingly enough, iron oxidizes so easily, that natural deposits are generally too rusty to be of much use without serious treatment first, so back in the Old Days, nearly all iron used to make weapons etc. was from purer deposits, that came from, you guessed it, meteors. Iron doesn't oxidize in space, apparently. So, all those "starmetals" or whatever that you hear about, swords made from the hearts of stars, etc? Yup, iron.

EDIT: Well, I'm off, and I shan't be here tomorrow, so Happy Thanksgiving all! (Americans, that is. Sorry Nurv, I would have told you the same at Canadian Thanksgiving, if I'd thought of it )

*walks in from behind breaker box and throws rubber gloves and a pair of wire cutters on a table* *hastily throws newspaper over them*

I always thought that a sword made of carbon nanotubes would be cool (if its feasible that is).

A. Shah is not insane, in fact she's The Last Sane Person. It is thou who art insane if you get it in your li'l noggin to try and cross her all funny-like.

B. If she gets it in her head to cut someone's sword in two, them mythbusters schmithbusters, she can and will do it. Especially with some wickedcrazy razor-sharp steel katana. Know that. She's a real warrior, not just some fantasy idea to gabble about. The real thing.

C. And anyway, you silly geese, don't you know anything? It wouldn't be a catfight, it'd be a frogfight. Know your mammal associations, dammit.Or amphibial associations. Frogfight. With katanas. Not a pretty sight...

A frogfight with katanas... I wonder...

Anyway I've never heard of that explanation for such a weapon...
I knew meteors had iron in them sometimes but I never put the two togeather...

*pokes his head into the cozy-looking cafe and feels the warmth coming from the ovens*

*steps in and asks the kind person at the counter for a mug of butter beer and a bit of Elvish lembas*

*taking his paid for goods, he goes to a small table and sips at the butterbeer and pulls out a book from nowhere and gets to reading*

Basically.. howdy. XD

Just for now, the teacup cafe' is crazy. The topic of conversation changes as often as the weather. On and off on and off on and off...
Anyway the conversation now is about politics and swordsmanship...

Crazy I know... And one thing you should now about the cafe'...

Flying lawn gnomes... check.

Politics, eh? I consider myself a conservative-ish Republican.

As far as swordsmanship, I'd rather use magic. :P
