I explained somewhat on the last page of how I think the election will be held, but as I said in that post, we have to see what the rest of the staff says, because it will mean enabling the poll feature and would involve a couple more threads. It is going to take some time.

Maybe all voters could just be required to post once as well, declaring who they picked. So in the end, if the posts don't add up to the votes, that candidate would just lose the difference.

In the first election, I just made Gdl96 my VP - he came in last, but I still wanted him as my VP.

What does the VP do?

Well take what the next President will do (nothing and no real power) and divide that by 2.

Well, last time emails were sent to bmilder and he counted them.

I think we can do the same thing. The electoral college will make an email address and mooters send their vote to it.

There will be requirements set up to vote. Like being a member for a certain time, post count, activity, etc. Will be posted as the election draws nearer.

I think we should be ok if everyone who votes uses the email address they used to register for entmoot.

I we even suspect someone is cheating we will just take away votes.

Lets face it, its just really a populatity contest, and the sooner we have it, the better. Hobbit, is this just a way of extending your term as far as you can?, because it seems like it to me. lol.

Personally, i think a pole would work the best, surely there must be some sort of way that a pole can be created where only one IP address can vote on it once, hence forth reducing cheating. People can simply create email address after email address ( if there sad enough, granted ) to make the winner win.

Thanks for your input, but there is no way to make polls a trustable system. Even if we could manage it to check adresses (that we can't) we'd have the problem that some users could vote several times (because they have a dynamic IP) and others wouldn't be ablle to vote (because they share the IP).

Email or PM are more trustable.

No. There has been no debate or actual campaign take place yet. It is going to take a little longer than four days to iron out everything.

Twista, before the election we have to hear all candidates' proposals and see them in the debates. This is not only a question of popularity. We're electing the President of Enmoot for the four next years. We want him/her to be the best suited person
