Dinosaurs!
Nice pics Nerdanel. That Niglo cat is just too cute! Is he your cat, or just a resident at the Moroccan farm?
As for the wedding, why are there no pics of the food? --- Below we have yours truly, 8 years all over again, in a palaeontologic menagerie at the Museum of Natural History in Vienna (January 2011). Click to enlarge. Allosaurus! The greatest predator ever to walk the planet. And the skull of a T-Rex in comparison. Triceratops! I tried to comfort this poor mammoth that somehow got stuck in a wall.

Nice! Although I don't think you're supposed to touch the Triceratops.
Does the Allosaurus have an abnormal bone-growth in his foot, or is it just a shadow on the photo? If it is bone-growth than that specimen is probably a cast from Big Al! (Which would even be cooler. )

I knew someone would comment on the Triceratops (and it's no surprise that you'd be the first)
I actually have another pic of me and the Triceratops, to show those who are touchy about touching I'm not sure I can see the "abnormal bone growth"? You mean on his middle foot, in the foreground?

Heheh, I know how irresistable it is to touch them from experience, but most exhibitions I've been too have taken that into account and moved the skeletons out of reach.
Yes, in the middle of his right foot, on the bone above the middle toe-bone.

Ah, like over it's third metatarsophalangeal articulation then
I don't know, maybe it's callus after a fracture? There were also fossils of an Iguanodon (with its renowned thumbs), a Protoceratops and a Diplodocus.

Way too many syllables.
But Big Al is the only Allosaurus skeleton I know that has a pronounced bone growth on his right foot. (Yes, due to injury) Big Al's reasonably famous for having a relatively complete skeleton and being a good example of how tough life was back then. Although he was not fully grown yet, he sported quite a bit of fractures and injuries. The foot being the most obvious, although at least on of his ribs also as excess bone growth after being fractured, IRRC. There's a good BBC documentary about recreating his life in CGI. Diplodocus? Full size? Oooooh. (And if it was a Iguanodon bernissartenses you can bet it was a cast from the Belgian collection. )

Hm, I think the pic's too unsharp to determine whether there's any pathology there, or if it's a perfectly normal joint. But I'm afraid this wasn't "Big Al" specifically.
But I think the Iguanodon cast might very well have originated from a Belgian coal-mine somewhere And yeah, a full size Diplodocus. What a magnificent neck, spine and tail

Dude, you were there. (or at least, your photo says you were... ) Don't you remember whether he had a swollen foot or not?

Dude, when you stand eye to eye (or eye-socket) with a carnosaurus, you first and foremost check out its teeth
And I didn't read the museum signs so carefully. They were all in German...

Thanks all!
Yes, food is a rarity around here, and Cheryl promises this is the last, which is exactly what she said four years ago!

hehe, cool! i'm not really used to actually having hair all over my head - it's quite warm! we'll see how long it lasts..
i went up north to visit my family last week. i took the chance to walk to my summer cottage, which is on an island. i'm a bit like jesus that way. some people were even more hard-core and were driving cars and tractors on the ice - i'm a bit more traditional in that way.
