Been a while since I threw up a riddle, but in the absence of any others....eh....

always in a hurry, scrambling about
trying to get everyone their draught
keeping the people happy, you know I'm on it
I do have help though, two little hobbits.

A riddle by me:

I left a halfling's hand
On a wrathful flight.
A clenched fist, a flicking wrist
And he dissapeared from sight.

And another:

One Man stood above us
We laughed at what he said
We chased him down with arrows
And replied "Death to Strawheads!"

And yet one more:

I let out a gasp
That spoiled Gandalf's bluff
It looked like the End
To see my dear friend's stuff.

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

Just give me One Good Year To get my feet back on the ground.
I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

Strider

Rosie,

Those are nice, but I think I may have them all. Check me:

1. The apple Sam threw at Bill Ferney

2. The Orcs at Helm's Deep when Aragorn spoke words of warning to them... just a bit before sunrise

3. Pippin, when he saw Sam's sword, Frodo's cloak from Lorien and the mithril coat

Sister Golden Hair: Indeed!

Rosie: Still, I liked the one about the apple. Never really thought about what an apple thinks...... Makes me feel different about hitting them with the lawn mower when they fell off the apple tree. Poor apples

Sorry Rosie... Don't want to make your 'feel bads' hurt...

Keep trying... sometimes inspiration just strikes someone who's answering.

Where are all the riddlers out there?

Well, heres another one from me.....

I stuck to the plan
it didnt quite work out
it wasn't till I saw it falling
that I really was in doubt
funny thing is,
I thought I had them all
in the end I was defeated
by someone really small

should be fairly easy, but need to kick this sucker in gear again

A riddle on the spot (hopefully not too easy):

My words could have made Patsy Cline sing a song;
If but for another hobbit and a lantern, I'd be gone.
I hurried back to the light, turned my back upon the door
And learned my terrorizers came from the dark Mordor.

Another one (prolly rather easy):

Three scratches left there
Could mean something or not.
Better not stay to long
If by the Nazgul sought.

And one more:

Because of finest drink
We missed a jail-break
We were probably still sleeping
When they reached the lake.

Yup. The Patsy Cline thing is her song "I Fall To Pieces" (which I don't like, but my sister listens to it a lot).

More riddles (cuz I'm bored right at the moment):

#1
Honey is sweet
As are horse's bright tails
I don't like visitors
But I do like tales

#2
I got my tea;
They'd just have to pout.
But it was not my relatives
That were without.

#3
Battle-scarred, time-worn
I lay there still.
Many hands my insides adorn
Belong to those they came to kill.
I am found among a ruin
My insides described aloud
My words are yet repeated
And the fear of them enshroud.

Three scratches... is that Amon Sul (Weathertop) - where Gandalf left a sign?

Finest drink... that sounds like the elves of Mirkwood who let Bilbo and the Dwarves slip away!

Hey Keith K!!!

Welcome back to "The Northern Wastes"!!!

(EDIT: AND thanks for pulling this thread back up!!! I'll need to work on some riddles myself. Beorn is home on leave (yay!) and doesn't intend to waste precious time on the 'puter... even if we're all correct on Rosie's, her #2 from a few posts up still needs solving!)
