At least I am glad that Maggie is back. And Valandil... almost back.

As for "Mwahaha", I believe there is no need to wait for you. You will post as a flashback, that is all.

Shah and Lotesse why won't you leave a place-holder each? Otherwise it will be a very distant flash-back!

Sounds like a good enough idea. Seeing as I dont see why you lot are waiting, I'll stick a place holder now.

Thank you for re-appearing, Val. I like your edited post and a new one. There is only one thing that should be added to #488, IMO.

There is now no actual librarian, sitting in the library full-time and helping guests to find books. Normally the library is locked. There are only two sets of keys. One set is given to Mahtaliel, with only keys from the Library floors. No keys to the dungeons, of course, and none to the Observatory.

The other, complete, set the Chancellor himself keeps.

So to let Oreturion into the Library, the Chancellor should lead him there himself, open the doors and show him around. He should inquire what sort of books Oreturion wishes to read. (Oreturion may lie of course, if he wishes). Then the Chancellor would leave him there alone, asking him to send a word to Ilmenzor when he leaves. He will not let him have the keys.

Could you, please, add a couple of sentences to your #488?

Udu & Crazy Squirrel, I'm really enjoying your Lilly/Udu posts!!! Great stuff. And Rian, Maggie & everyone, nice posts! I put a placeholder next 2 Shah's for Viv's part in the race. We'll be getting to it soon enough, thanx 4 everyone's patience. Val, SO glad to see you back, too! Rian, don't worry, Viv doesn't know Gondolic; your elves secrecy in that department is secure! It's only fair that both sides, as it were, have their own secret method of communicating that the "other side" cannot interpret.

I know, I LOVE Lilly!! That's Viv's little homegirl! CS, don't forget the fabulous canary diamond Viv gave Lilly, remember? Maybe Lilly will want to have a jeweler set it into a pendant, that'll raise a few eyebrows. Hate to see what could happen if Valandil ever spotted one of his gemstones on a total strangers' neck. Actually, on second thought, maybe Lilly oughta keep that stone out of the public eye, like Viv told her to, but knowing lilly, she'll probably totally forget the need to keep it under wraps and will want to set it & show it off. That would bring heat on us Nazgul from the royal court, though, and all sorts of cans of worms might get opened. Hmm. Yeah, maybe Lil ought to keep it hidden. Because if Val ever saw it, he'd have ample reason to start an inquiry into the residents of the House of Orrodel, and THEN us Nazgul really WOULD have to be on guard.

O.K., scratch that.

Great posts guys, especially Udu. I see Maethor is coming round to Khamûl's point of view!

Don't you touch my Lilly!

Lotesse,Thanks for your kind words. I enjoy writing for Lilly, she is endearing...

Re: the canary diamond. I thought about it at the very beginning, and Lilly would have done it, if not the sword post. Now I feel we shall not make presents to the "other side". If they prefer to rely on talking swords, they don't need our mistakes...

TD, there might be some repercussions after the jewelry store scene. Khamul and Udu might need to have a "little talk" about what to do about Lilly.

And Rian,: What big city could there be in a day's ride from Tharbad???

The Evil Cartographer noticed that there is a lot of things to add to the Map. Valinor shop, The Seven Stars, The Sword of Elendil, the school sponsored by Mahtaliel (could you give more INFO,LMM? ) ...Have I forgotten anything??

Udu, CS, Enjoy your posts very much!

No, he didn't - but he did do some things that he really regrets now ... and he did take up some of her time, so he had to pay her.
