Oh, the "they have read this PM" option has moved, but it's still there. Under User CP, then Track Messages.

That's helpful to have! I'm glad it's still there.

I made room Earniel - oh, and I just now got to read your PM from yesterday, it took me a while to read all my PMs. So, I would have replied right away but yours was the last PM I got to see.

Great, it came back at 3am. Noon now, so shouldn't last much longer. Very hungry. Finally can swallow without hurting my brain, LOL.

Last time I was having some insomnia, I read an entire novel - "Lie Down With Lions" by Ken Follett. That guy is a genius.

I hope you can sleep tonight TLSP.

Okay, this is odd. My migraine from Friday and Saturday dissipated into a regular-stregth headache, fluctuating from dull to throbbing. But it never went away fully.

Today, it is a level 5 migraine strength head-explosion. I tried walking up the stairs to my office. Not fun.

Rev., I'm really feeling the pain here. I've been fighting a migraine since Thursday evening. Probably a plus 6 on your scale. Sunday it came down to a 3 and still won't budge and I've been taking everything and anything under the sun for it. I sure hope you feel better soon, 'cause that means I may be too.

Doc gave me Tramacet and Maxolon to try, this afternoon. At first it just made me sleepy, but now, about two and a half hours later, I can say that there is some relief. Will have to wait and see if it hits me again tomorrow.

Doc also gave me Maxalt for the beginning stages, but this latest one was tricksy because I didn't get auras...so I wasn't sure.

Good luck.

What are auras - What is getting auras? Is that because your vision gets disatorted from such intense pressure on the brain, from the headache? I hope you get a little releif, man, jesus wept that sounds unbearably miserable.

Aurus--for me at least--are visual irregularities. I'd normally see them out of the corner of my eye. Odd patterns and shapes, and at times a tiny spinning line. I find this to be a very useful indicator of what is about to happen, but sometimes (like this time) I don't get them...

Feeling okay now. Thanks. Should up water intake just to be on the safe side.

Gah... decongestant induced insomnia last night. Spent the entire time tired but too twitchy to sleep. Will probably crash in an hour or so.

*sigh* sometimes i get so tired of people around me who say they're going to kill themselves.. i know they might mean it, i know they're having a hard time, and i know i've promised (myself and them) to listen and let them talk about anything whenever they want.. but it's pretty tough at times. it's not very easy to hear familymembers and friends imply these things.

sorry.. guess i just had to get this said.. somewhere where those people can't read it.

mmm - got a migraine too - not as bad as yours Rev or yours Spock by the sounds of it..

yeah i get the visual distortion and sometimes the numbness on my face ...UUGH!!

Luckily the actual headaches usually are not THAT bad - i mean -definetly NOT good - but not terrible - except rarely.

I remember distinctly the first time i had the visual distortion thing: it was coupled with an intense one and my face went numb - it was shortly after my dad died - i did not have a clue what was happening - my pupils were totally dilated and everything was Way too bright ...

Wasn't nice - had to work hard to keep calm.

Course found out later twas migarine - but didn't know that at the time.

hope you guys are feeling better!

and chin up Nerdanel!

-that's natural i guess: it is bound to be wearying!

Yesterday was a breeze. I had more energy than I've had in months. But today the head is throbbing. Could be a regular strong headache, but I think it is linked...

I recently read that people who suffer migraines with auras can be helped by a heart surgery. Not sure how or why though.
Doesn't help me anyway since my migraines are without auras. Only once have I had visual distortions, followed by a horrible migraine that had me throw up seven times. That's a puke-record that lasted several years
